Bimmercode IS Dead?
Is bimmercode dead? It doesn't work well or at all on my 23 m340i and developers keep saying that they are working on it/some features may never come to the LCI. Pretty unfortunate.

It will depend on the ECU.
Some of the LCI ecus have what is called “secure coding”, which means any changes have to be signed by BMW servers before storing to the car. On Any ecu effect , kiss goodbye to small config tweaks. I think this also applies to the MGU21 , which is the idrive 8 head unit |

Same here, already purchased recommended OBD adapter - but have not paid for full version of BimmerCode yet - still waiting for the Car to arrive, should be at Port of Arrival today.
It does appear that BMW have locked access to some of the modules (HU) on the LCI 2023 G20 models. Maybe the developers will work around it - maybe not - it's been awfully quiet. Regards, Mike. |

BimmerCode is working fine in my 23, only things you can’t access so far is IDRIVE screen and Cluster, you can still code just about everything else

Patience. It can be a while for Bimmercode to catch up. Happens with every new model or LCI. You'll get a little here and there till they can catch up.

Having similar issues with my 2023 M440i. Can't stand the auto start/stop so I bought the Kies Wi-Fi OBD and Bimmercode. Went to code today and after multiple attempts I was unable to disable the auto start/stop (Bimmercode shows auto start/stop as "not active", but when I go to drive it's another story, car turns off at every stop sign).
I did have success with the B&W audio profiles, so maybe it's just some ECUs. One observation - I saw that there was no option to enter "expert mode" for the ECU that controls the start/stop; however, there was "expert mode" for other ECUs. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but I'm fairly tech savvy, so I'm assuming there's some compatibility issues with the newer models as stated in this forum. |

By default ASS is off in Sport Mode, so go into iDrive and configure your Sport Individual Mode to have Comfort Mode characteristics for all. Then use Bimmercode to set the default mode at startup to be the Sport Individual Mode = ASS off essentially all the time. So basically your Sport Ind Mode becomes your new Comfort mode and ECO/Sport/Sport+ are as they were from factory

OBD2 Connection
Hi Guys,
I have just received my brand new 23 M340i and would like to try some basic coding. However I have tried three different Dongles and tried to connect to Bimmercode and all I get is a Connection Error. I have tried starting the engine first, I have tried just one press of the starter and I have tried Diagnostic mode, but every time I press connect, I get an error!! Can someone give me the correct procedure to follow, to connect with Bimmercode to the 2023 LCI. Also I have turned everything off, but the daytime running lights still remain on, how do I turn them off. Thank You. |

2023 m340i here. I have had luck successfully changing ambient lighting with BimmerCode, although I didn’t realize it sets the color “Ivory” in the interior lighting menu to the color you coded in.

On my 2023 m340i I’ve done the following with BimmerCode:
1. Disable warning message on start up 2. Change ambient lighting to blue (select “Ivory” in the interior lighting menu of the car to toggle the color you selected in BimmerCode) 3. Default start mode is sport individual, not comfort 4. Windows do not stop rolling up when door is opened I bought the wireless OBD Link CX that BimmerCode recommended. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NFLL3NT...p_mob_ap_share I haven’t been able to change the layout/design of the gauges like you could do on ID7. I would LOVE to have my driver side screen replicate the M gauge cluster. I’ve reverse engineered BMW’s android application and therefore I can send basic commands (start/stop, odometer, lock/unlock) to my BMW with my own scripts. The challenge BimmerCode is facing is the car makes a request to a BMW server to “sign off” on certain changes. This request is probably encrypted with a token(s) and there is no telling when/if BimmerCode will be able to crack it. With the phone application, there are ways you can look at the source code, I have no idea how you would do that in the context of a cars operating system. If you could at least intercept the sign off request, you might be able to find a pattern and decrypt it. |
