Thought this could be a useful thread for those looking to mod their engine and see some ideas in a consolidated place

If you had $1000 (give or take some) to spend on power/engine-based tuning that doesn't kill the manufacturers warranty, what are you doing? (With or without labor- specify)

Jb+? Jb4? Exhaust mod (catless DP, catback exahust?) Chargepipe upgrade? Air intake upgrade? Etc…

Now what if you only had $500 - What would you drop/keep?

Thinking this could be an insightful thread if it gets going…

Currently leasing a 330i myself, looking at getting a resonator delete pretty soon for around 100 bucks to get some more pops and burbles.
Got an OBD Adapter and bought Bimmercode for around $100 total which was definitely worth it! Sport+ alone really makes the car much more responsive on the throttle, and stuff like ambient light changes and removing warning messages is great. Oh, and that god-awful active sound design is gone too

I admit I'm pretty nervous about actually tuning the engine though, even with a piggyback. It seems like jb+ is the safest and cheapest bet at around $200, but I cringe thinking about the bill if the engine or transmission decides to up and die on me. I get that you can unplug it and be semi-safe if the dealer doesn't dig deep, but for such a huge warranty claim I would hate to have screwed myself over for +40 hp.

I have a piggy back. That's all at the moment. Od get a DP too but the install and uninstall charges will be much more than the DP itself. Plus CEL. Which is why I'm waiting.

its a personal preference, if you want more power, the piggyback is your best bet.

More sound, catted DP

You can also get new wheels or carbon fiber parts to upgrade the look

Dealer ever say anything about your JB4 recently for maintenance and such and if it was plugged into ISTA? Just curious, or are you still good on that part?

Yes sir. Been plugged in thrice now and no issues. Car came back clean. *Touchwood*

Any recommendations on a catted DP for the 330i? Def want to stay within warranty bounds. Thinking Jb+ and catted will be a nice upgrade.

I recommend the active autowerke downpipe , its a very high quality product and does not throw a check engine light
