As a service to my fellow California BMW forum brothers....should any one of you be thinking "I need more M" and "hmmm perhaps the roundel and emblems on the back are too small and I'm fearful that my fellow motorists will not be able to figure out what I'm driving"
The following plate is presently available in California - get it before it's gone! ps - not a joke |

Always debadged my cars even M ones - first makes it more difficult to identify and the lack of badge does not impact car's performance ; second it avoids to have stupid teenagers ( what is the upper age limit??) scratching the paint when trying to steel them with a screwdriver. And them glue it on their bicycle!!!

Here is an artistic interpretation of what I imagine my stylish (thanks for that Fuller) ride will look like, I hope this helps. Stay tuned for a future thread from me titled "I've removed my M and xDrive badges...here everyone take a look" for actual photos and further in depth conversation both pro and con regarding badge removal

I'll wait for the photos. As for discussing pros and cons, I don't think much discussion is necessary.
Pros: You get the badging you want. There's one less digit in the badge to clean and wax around. Cons: It requires some input of time and effort There's a chance something could go wrong and you introduce a scratch or blemish on your new car Some people might think you've built a 330i to look like a 340i but forgot the M, so a botched M340i look alike build I like the "M" because it pisses off real m-car drivers - or at least the vocal minority of them with insecurities over how bmw chooses to use the M brand. |

I keep the badges. However de-badging is fine if you like a clean look.
What is not cool...and not sure why some people do this...is "badge" their cars with M badges that were not put on by BMW. Like when you see a 530i and they have slapped an M badge on the trunk lid too. What is that about? Its sad...its like they really wanted an M550i or M5...but just couldn't swing it and so they bought an M badge a put it on the trunk lid. They should just be happy with their purchase. |

You know it's just the way I see cars and how I like them (totally subjective of course), everyone has their own opinion on this and everyone's opinion is right - given the number of BMWs I've owned it's probably just what I'm used to and therefore what I like to see when I look at the back of my car...a simple badge on the right side
