Lower dash color

Does anyone know if you order ...say cognac seats, will the lower dash always be in that color? Is there any way to order one with a black lower dash and cognac seats?

I'm seeing cognac and oyster, and other seating colors and the dash-to me- looks funny, not right in the seat color.

Not sure how much it differs around the world but I have Tartufo and the lower dash is black. I could've ordered the full extended leather to get the lower dash too but it was a few grand more and I don't like it. Actually I would prefer if my door cards were black as well

Unfortunately in the US the only option is to get the cognac lower dash when you get the cognac seats. Here in Canada (and most of the world) you can get black on the lower dash even with cognac seats...which I prefer.

I mean seriously, WTF is that about? I know we have better pricing structures on cars down here, but it makes no sense at all that we can't get many of the spec variations available in Canada

It's not just a BMW thing either. I noticed it with MB too.

I don't know if it's the same in the US, but in Germany, if you go with the leather wrapped dashboard, the lower part will be black instead of cognac. And it will be leather instead of soft touch plastic as an added bonus.

With the Sensatec dashboard, it will still be cognac though just like the normal dash.

I'm not aware of having the leather wrapped dashboard as an option here. You guys get all the cool stuff in Germany, including the Autobahn!

It's the same option in Canada. We get the leather wrapped dash option which gives you upper and lower dash leather in black (here is my old M340i as reference). Makes the interior feel much more premium.

This is what I've been saying! We're getting the shaft in the US, lol. Then again, I'm sure you're paying a hefty premium for that extended leather.

I don't recall it being that expensive of an option, but our cars are generally more expensive. That being said, I would have paid anything to not get the two colored dash. I really don't like it. If I were in the US, I would probably just opt for an all black interior (personal preference of course).

Yeah, for sure I personally like all black interiors for my own cars. I don't remember if the black Vernasca w/blue stitching that I ordered had the stitch work on the dash or not. I remember it being on the door panels which looked really sharp IMO. I guess I'll find out soon enough!

The stitching should be blue.

Thanks! I think I'll like setting the ambient lighting to blue as well.

That is what I use on my X5 and really like it. Will likely use the same on the M340i.

Am I the only one who actually likes dual tone dash? Haha. Have an X3 M40i on order with cognac interior and I was jealous of 3ers being able to get the dash in cognac as well.

(totally my opinion) I just think the lower dash is too orange and plastic looking...doesn't match the seats. To be fair, I'm not a big fan of matching dash color in most cars. I like the dash to be black and the color to stay on the seats.

6oclockshadow ,

First off, the Cognac Vernasca interior looks terrific-- more people have just come out of nowhere & said so; and it really goes well with Tanzanite & the open pores wood trim

the bottom color of the dash is a good match for the seats, in my view

For what it's worth-- hope that helps

It used to be an option in the US; I have it on my 2018 530e. But I don't have the leather on the lower dash. I do have the mocha nappa leather upholstery if that makes a difference.
