Sport Plus = Better exhaust sound?
Hey all - been trolling around different options for exhaust and came across this as well. Coding in the Sport Plus mode on the 330 (OEM exhaust) appears to have opened up the exhaust sound quite a bit... has anyone else tried this?
Not sure if this YouTube'r is a forum member so if you are, great work on the video! |

Just pull the plug on the valve when it's open - same effect and free.

oem tuning restricts valves generally and sport plus makes it less restrictive, with an ECU flash / code you can open the valves at all times

Outside of crackle and pops, tunes do not make more engine noise. Most tunes or Sport + just keep the valve open. You can do the same by pulling the plug on your valve while it's open position. I did this right when I got my 330i with no issue or warning lights what so ever.

Reviving this thread. Just added Sport Plus to my 330i and I noticed right away the exhaust noise is way more pronounced. Sounds like a beast. The only think I'm not crazy about is the jerk response when letting off the foot brake.

I added Sport Plus to my 330i and I get way more burbles now. The transmission shifts a hair quicker. But overall it feels the same when doing pulls.
