BMW needs to offer 5000 and 7500 mile options like they've done with Mini in SF Cali.

Some of us city dwellers only need a car for fun evening and weekend driving.

I'm sure it will change after a few months of sales when they get a better ideal of resale value. First model year, and first months are lowest. Probably not much of a discount yet until supply exceeds demand.

Higher the residual, the less you pay for the lease. It's actually pretty aggressive for a freshly released model.

I agree. Considering We haven't seen the residual for 10k or 15k.

Assuming a $52K price car a 57% residual with $2000 loyalty is the same as a 61% residual with no rebates offered. Not terrible for a brand new model. Will surely improve as the year goes on and dealers have inventory.

I was able to get a 7500 lease on a new X3 M40i...We typically only do about 4000 a year, but I was tired of turning in cars with 1/3 of the miles on them so I asked if I could do a super low mile lease and it wasn't a problem.

This is not a limited release or M series. Its a entry level 3 series. It is a brand new model yes, and a dealers job is to make profit. But xxx amount over invoice is where you should be negotiating, not MSRP. And if a dealer wants to stick to MSRP, that's their right to do so. Personally i would shop around just to see what's out there.

That residual is incorrect. 57% is for 15k miles. I was able to confirm with RCC since the residuals were not posted on January's programs. Unless, that just changed.

Holy moly. My buddy got a 340i 6 months ago and is already at 20k. I was at 17k my first year.

Dang, your mileage scenario is awesome.

This is where you have a conversation with the general manager that if they try to exploit the low availability now, you won't be a customer now or in the future if that is the way they do business.

I won't play their stupid games.

But the other side of the same coin is if there is a glut of product, do you demand every last nickel from the dealer?

Personally, I want a relationship where I can get a reasonable price all the time and without all the crappy "let me talk to the manager, etc."BS.

If one dealer won't do that for me, I will find another. Or another car company altogether.

They'd make a killing with people that make short sighted choices and prioritize lower payments over annual mileage.

I bought my M this time, mileage aside the lease rates were simply horrible.

I prefer not to finance with the manufacturer if it all possible anyways

Were in the Tampa area...I work from home and my wife's commute to the hospital is about 5mi round trip. Most of our miles go on the i3, but even that is around 3k a year just popping around town.

You can sell the car before the less is over to cash in on the positive equity. I did it with my M4 using cars.com instant cash offer
