If enabled, when you come to a stop, it will hold the car in the stopped position until you press the gas. Allowing you to take your foot off the brake pedal. Fantastic for driving in traffic!

Active Cruise Control
Hi All
If you engage the cruise when you are in stop /start traffic and you come to a traffic light it disengages , well that is what I discovered I think BMW are bringing out "urban" cruise control soon where it recognises traffic light colours and keeps on going or stops That would be great 😄👍 |

Oil check
Hi All
First time I tried to check the oil , pressed the check oil status selection and nothing happened Couldn't figure it out I think it was because I was on a slope , steep driveway and I just started the car so car was cold I tried again a bit later when engine was warm and on level ground , perfect |

This one is awkward, for me specifically. I learned recently that my car drives itself better in auto than I can drive it (at least for now) with the paddles. BMW's amazing shift logic means that the car can raise and lower gears based on how I am driving, whereas with paddles there are actually TWO delays. There is the thinking delay, and then there is the physical delay as you flick the paddles.
With auto mode, there is only the thinking delay. Sure, it is more fun to flick my paddles or shift my lever, but it emphatically is not faster... And with the speeds the car is capable of, it's much easier to reign the performance in using full auto mode. I do however still use full manual on the highway for both fun and fuel economy reasons! |

After driving manuals for 32 years I am never going back Some folk use the downshift to help braking but could not be fussed Must try the paddles on some tight winding roads though maybe it will be fun 😄 |

Glove box
I usually store my gloves in the glove box hahah together with my wifi hotspot and the other day I wanted to take the gloves out and couldn't find them
I thought what the hell On further inspection the glove box runs very deep lengthwise into the car and the glove was right at the end !! So that glove box is really quite a nice deep long space to store other secret goodies 😄 |

My X3M I would need to tap the gas pedal when the cars started move and to have the car start moving again. It never turned off at a stop and kept the car from moving while not on the brake. |

During a routine service, service guy said that the battery is drained more quickly if the car is left unlocked. Apparently, all the various systems are on standby and require a trickle charge. When the car is locked this does not occur.

That might be true. I recently left my car unlocked for 4 days straight, without moving it or bringing the key near the car. On the 4th day, it showed a battery management warning. I have a dash cam hardwired and thought that might be it. But I've left the car unattended for longer than that, even after I hardwired the cam, and there has never been a warning. Hasn't happened since either, after locking the car.

I agree. My E90 never had a problem but the G20 for some reason doesn't work as well. 🤷🏻*♂️

This is probably a bit much on the topic, but try it this way:
- lower buckle inserted into "feeder slot" - upper buckle inserted on rear deck as usual - belt stretched such that upper has just enough slack to relieve any downward pull I had the same issue, and it's been working for me. |

Yesterday, I learned that the auto-dimming portion of the driver's side mirror and rear view mirror does not cover the edges (probably 1/4 inch) of those mirrors. The reflection on the edges of those mirrors is not dimmed.
Doesn't bother me, I just thought it was odd. |

I agree. And once in a while, when the headlights of a truck behind me are way too bright, the non-dimming passenger side bothers me too.
