Just curious - does anyone know what the replacement cost of worn out or damaged adaptive systems are if they fail out of warranty? Absolutely no question the option was worth $700 to me. But I'm wondering if it's one of those things like laser headlights where the cost of adding the option while new is low but replacement cost (parts plus labor) is many times more expensive...

Should be about $600.00 per strut (prices on F3X parts) - don't think it would differ too much on the G2X BMW's.

I will say the passive suspension has been better than I expected so far for daily city driving but if I had the chance to order over again, I'd go for the adaptive M suspension option every time.

By the time I tried to add it to my build the dealer already had a production #/VIN so it was too late to add. Would have made the car that much better but I'm very happy w my purchase nonetheless!

For anybody debating it, my advice is go for it

Chiming in well after the fact to add initial impressions to the thread.

I found an M340xi on a lot that had everything I wanted except the M Adaptive Suspension and went ahead with it rather than wait and deal with pandemic shortages and restrictions.

In my house, the Bimmer is the "fun car" and the SUV is the daily kid carrier. That one has air suspension. So having the M340 always sprung for agility makes sense. But if I were driving this daily and putting a lot of miles on it, I would not want to live without the extra comfort of the Adaptive. It really does change the ride. However, I DO wonder how costly it would be to maintain down the road...

Too bad they don't build NA models like the euro ones: the ConnectedDrive will immediately offer to add smart high beams and Adaptive suspension - the hardware is built in.

Go figure?

I'm in the market for a G20 and I'd wager a guess of 90% of M-Sports on the lot don't have the adaptive suspension. I'm wondering if my best option is to:

1. take something with M-Sport Suspension off the lot if I get an MSRP cut

2. hold off and wait until an M-Adaptive Suspension car arrives on the lot (probably won't have enough bargaining power to get off MSRP on a more unique car) or

3. just do a custom order with the M-Adaptive option.

Both have their benefits

If you go adaptive get ready to spend big bucks to refresh the adaptive dampers I'm sure $600 or more each

If you don't have adaptive when it's time to to refresh you can get sport bilsteins which are better than the adaptive and the stocks for $700 all around

I'm not sold on adaptive - but hard not to click the box for $700 but will be Pricey to replace

This is what I did. I had to educate my salesperson on the M-Adaptive option, he thought it was only for M3 models For the 330i, you can add the "Dynamic Handling Package" which combines M Sport brakes, differential & adaptive suspension for $2,450.

Wait, the adaptive suspension is not an option you can buy from the Connected Store in NA?
