Production Date
Hi Darleen, just wondering how long it took from order received to production scheduled status. I just placed my 330i order yesterday and really impatient.

Hate to be the one to break it to you but you are in the worst possible stage because you do not have an allocation yet. And getting an allocation is dependent on a lot of factors. That being said, once you get scheduled for production, its usually a couple of weeks before your production starts, then 2-4 days to finish. Budget another week to get to at the port, and its another long wait to get on a vessel. But once you get to "in transit" it should take about 15days to get to your dealer. The only problem is you do not have an allocation and that could take any where from a week to half a year (unlikely) but it just depends on BMW to schedule you for production.

My order is scheduled for production, but whenever I check using F 12, the production date is always blank. Is this normal? My orders been pushed back for the last six months, I’m wondering if this is a symptom of that

I believe you have to be in "Production Begins" to see the date using F12.

111: Order Accepted 112: Scheduled for Production 150: Production Started Per above comments, like from SavvyMarvy and Tron-M3, do you have an actual allocation where it is Order Accepted? Is there a production number? Vin number should come when you get to 150. Keep us posted! |
