BMW Xdrive 1% Rule for my F30 340i
I have a 2017 BMW 340i with Xdrive. I just picked up a set of 437ms with summer tires on it. I want to make sure that they will fit and won’t go against the Xdrive rule. The specs are below. Also is the xdrive rule true, will it actually affect the car.
437m Specs: Fronts : 245/35/19 Rears : 265/35/19 Please let me know as I want to put the wheels on really bad 😂. Basically are these specs okay to run without going against Xdrive? And will it rub? |

If it is the calculation you want help with: the (nominal) difference between 245/35-19 and 265/35-19 is more than 2%.
An observation for comparison is that BMW documented limit for the 2mm thread wear difference (alone) would correspond to 0.6%. I have no BMW official source for the "1% rule" and weather or not it is worse to have larger or smaller rolling circumference in the rear compared to the front, but I wouldn't do that to my xDrive. (Can't answer about fitment.) |
