Code Trailer Hitch
Hello together,
does some of you retrofitted a G20 with a Trailer Hitch? The mechanical and electrical part is already done. Now I have to code it. Currently, no light is shining at the trailer. I can code it with E-Sys, but I don't know on wich ECU I have to do it. Thanks for help! |

Have you managed to solve your problem? I already fixed the trailer, and connected the cabling that is intented to the rear section of the car. havent done the connection to the front section of the car. My rear fuse box is not suitable, I think , for the trailer, because is smaller than it should be. Does your fuse box is equal as the one in the install instructions? Regards |

Hi,
I’ve done the retrofit for an electric tow hitch on my G21. Via Esys you add the 3AC to your FA and then code all modules in the car with the new FA. Ps: wiring the harness to the front fuse box & doorplug = PITA.. Best regards, Joren |

I also have my rear fuse box smaller than it should be, does your rear fuse box has all the space to plug all the connectors? My rear fuse box Can you help? |

Hi Litos,
To acces the doorswitch you have to remove your front fusebox completely and than you can reach far enough behind the liner of the footwell to pull the plug out. (To remove the plug you have to lift up the plastic piece at the door side). I had the smaller rear fusebox so I bought a new one from BMW with a new LIN-module. I have posted a link in my topic with a PDF from BMW (in Dutch). If you need more help, let me know 👍🏻 |

Hi Joren,
First of all, many thanks for your prompt reply and all your precious information. This weekend I finally found a way, with your help, to reach the door plug connector. And after beeing thru a really difficult task, I found another! How in hell will I unpin the pin 22 of the connector!!?? It is in the middle line, no way to push the unlock pin...grrrrrr I had to cut and solder the other one! Couldnt find a safe way to remove it. Thanks for the manual, I also have one in Portuguese. Do you have the reference number of the new rear fusebox? Do you think it is the same to my car? How much did you pay for it? Once again, thanks dude. Bye Carlos |

Hi Carlos,
You could have unpinned nr 22 with a small blunt needle in the little hole you have next to the plug. (Again, also a big PITA). The part number for: rear fuse box: 61148734160 - €110,70 LIN-module: 61358795478 - €61,29 Best regards, Joren |

Do you have to buy new LIN module or can it be transferred from the old fuse block?

Also has anyone had the same problem when trying to code new hitch? My AAG2 module seems to be partially detected? All of the versions seem to be OK except the CAFD has value of FFFFFFFF_255_255_255. Is it possible I've connected something incorrectly?
