Wireless Charger Solution

I decided with a car that I'm effectively renting for three years, paying for the wireless charging option wasn't worth it.

I tried out several chargers (to find the best fit) and came up with the following solution:

This charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This 90 degree USB extension: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It seems to work well, the phone stays put even during aggressive driving, and fits nicely in the space provided - plus at $28 total seems like a much better value than the $500 BMW option.

Looks pretty good, thanks for the links. I didn't get the wireless charging because of the location. It seemed hard to get my phone out during the test drive.

Haaa! I did the exact same thing right down to the charger but this USB cable was shorter and works a bit better (went through a few) also is angled at both ends to better fit into the tray.

RAYSUN 2 Packs 90 Degree Micro... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WMF7JUA...p_mob_ap_share

I have some heat shrink and soldering equipment on the way to adjust the wire size so there is no slack.

Great write up!!

Also, this under the charger avoids the ApplePay issue fairly well in addition to staying put

Convenience package?

Hey so in some videos I saw that if you get a car with hands free door and trunk opening feature you have to place your phone or card in the wireless charging pad to initiate the sync and to start the car.

Does this mean wireless charging is included in the convenience package since that package comes with the Comfort Access keyless entry,

Thx

I can confirm that wireless charging is NOT included in comfort access package. The pad is there for the card/mobile option of starting the car but it's not charging.
