BimmerUtility?

Anyone used BimmerUtility for G20 coding? I see this is the new option with LP and eSysX being unavailable. I can't download/purchase at the time being tho due to their site saying "under maintenance". Thoughts?

I've never heard of this. Do you have screenshots or more information about it?

Interesting, I only found one other mention of that software here:

https://www.bimmerscene.com/Thread-G...oftware-needed

Looks promising if it finally lets us code all modules on the newest, 2022 G-Series cars.

They have some videos up on YouTube but that's about all I've seen. I'm interested in understanding more about this potential option…

Interested to know how it works compared to the others. Thanks.

I bought it. Be careful, you need a machine which is running 64bit Windows. Mine is running Windows 10 and works beautifully. You actually do the cheat sheet coding in the Bimmerutility application then save it using Esys.

So does this app code things permanently (as I understand Esys does) as opposed to BimmerCode which get reset with every software update?

I can also confirm it works just fine thus far.

Put it on an older Dell i5 Laptop with 8GB RAM & a new SSD, with a fresh copy of Windows 10 on it. Installed the version of ESys they say you need (3.38.2), put in the PSDZData, fired up ESys, read out the HU_MGU unit, it immediately picked up on the read and asked me if I wanted to code in BimmerUtility, it pulled in the file, showed me all the codes as if it was expert mode in Esys, saved the file, went back to ESys, Code NCD, and all is good. It appears to have worked with all of the modules I checked on my 2022 G20 that was delivered a little less than 2 months ago.

So an interesting and slightly different implementation here, instead of using a launcher to get ESys to work, they pick up on when you read NCD files from the car, lets you edit it in their app which has all the mappings, and then saves the file back into place automatically for you to code your edited file to the car using ESys.

Curious to see what the experts think, if they've tried it, Almaretto or shawnsheridan

Looks awesome and i love the way it translates alot more then the other launchers ive had in the past with Esys. Might give this a go once my LP license is up. LP was $50 for 3 years, this is $100 for lifetime with free lifetime updates... No brainer.

BU works great. I've been using for last month, no issues.

With the .est Token included with E-Sys Launcher PRO 2.8.2_Build_162b BFU Edition expiring soon on "2022-06-13", and few other options available, none with current CAFD Mapping, it's the best option for support of all F/I/G Series cars.

It's got my stamp of approval.

You must be joking even don't come close to level of Esys Plus .

Maybe, I don't use Chinese software, so I can't compare, but it does what I need it to do, and does it well.

How so? It does everything Esysplus does and a few more little convenient features as far as I can tell.

This is probably a daft question. Is it OK to use Bimmercode as well as Esys? I've just coded LCA and TLA with Esys. I presume that if I then coded Bowers and Wilkins with Bimmercode, it would only change that particular parameter in the headunit.

Any idea how to code this?

My traffic light only appears on the left hand side inside the speedo. Would be nice to have it in the driver assistance area...

A question for those of you that are using BU...will BU work with "Coding-Verification" i.e. create a CAFD file from an FA file?

My workflow includes creating and comparing CAFD files generated from different FA files.

Thank you

Larry

Yes. Use E-Sys Coding Verification to create CAFD .ncd files and load .ncd in BU.

BU has only been available a short period, but have only seen positive reviews. Personally, I have not had the opportunity to test it out yet; but did reach out to support and received a prompt reply to my questions.
