Flakes in oil filter

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi guys im new to the b58 car, i had a kia stinger before but wanted to get something a lil better, I have a 2020 BMW with about 25k miles on it. After driving for 1k miles, I decided to change the oil and found some metal flakes in the filter but none got through it. The car's Carfax showed previous oil changes but the filter looked like it had never been changed before. When draining out old oil there were no flakes since they went through a clean filter which surprised me! should i take it to the dealership to get it inspected or is this a small problem? (the car has a cel and i don't know why)

Definitely swing by a bmw shop to have the check engine light scanned.

If you don't have the means to verify what the CEL is, I would also recommend having a shop scan the CEL. Although it might be not be related at all. Metal flakes that are large and magnetic tend to be more concerning as they are related to piston ring and valves issue.
