Nice showing from the big cruiser.

Always seems the Vettes get a little something extra at this event. Maybe the Stig, just a couple more Detroit horses, Michelins that skipped the mileage warranty department, if you know what I'm sayin

Really impressed with the M340i, CLA45, and GT500. A Mustang (even if it is a $100k Mustang) beating the Huracan Evo is just great.

They chose a RWD M340i because it's faster around the track.
Would still nice to see the differential between RWD vs AWD on an about as much apple to apple comparison

Agree, these new Shelby's are awesome. Still think I'd take a GT350 though, not a fan of automatic mustangs.

With its pickup truck frame, 5500lb+ weight, 60/40 weight bias and those teeny tires... yeah like that other guy said, at the first turn it would skid off the track and burst into flames lol

The 2016 Charger Hellcat ran a 3:03.5, so the Redeye would probably be near a high 3:01 or low 3:02, which puts it above the M340i, RS5, RS7, and right next to the N55 M2 for comparison.

Fine I'll say it.. I suspect the 992T will beat the 992 GT3RS around this track time and time again.. the awd grip it has upon exiting corners cannot be matched even with a lighter, rwd car
Take a look at the full compilation of results from the 15 years of this event:

https://www.caranddriver.com/feature...storical-data/

the 991.2 GT3RS is already faster than the 992 turbo.

That CLA was on r compound tires. They make a huge difference. Some other cars are on r comps too. Strange that they don't use same tires for all cars to have better comparison. Just have a stack of ps 4s and have Michelin sponsor it.
M340 xi would have been faster around the track vs rear wheel i believe - same logic as M5 is not tested in rear wheel drive mode

I've seen hellcats at the track and believe it or not they handle pretty good and on the strait aways blow by most cars.

I tend to agree but at least it's an improvement over the first gen. In other words, it's heading in the right direction design-wise unlike some Munich examples.

LOL, after Fiat Multipla exterior, the Mercedes interior is probably next in line as the most repugnant interior... (for me at least). I will not keep the car even if it was a gift.
They should call that dashboard “the wall”. Definetely a lot of design brainstorm in that one...

You're definitely in the minority there. Mercedes produces the nicest interiors of them all!

If you only have one long screen, both displays have to be placed at the exact same height, two screens makes much more sense ergonomically for that reason.

It literally looks cheap to me, like they are trying to save money by using one screen when they should be using two.

They always try to get the most expensive version of the car with all of the performance options. So the CLA probably has an R compound option, while other cars may not.

Looks more linear and well thought out to me. Nothing about that interior looks cheap to me but hey, it's all subjective.

Well thought?
You mean a screen that described the steering wheel shape improving the estethics and the generic vision was not apealing to you, but that corner abomination that sticks out is?
Ni integration in the dash with rear exposed , with dust and ugly when looking even from outside of the window?
Those rotating vents that look like they were found in the scrapyard and screwed in there by the poor guy who build the vehicle in the backyard?
Buick Reatta?
No thank you.
I remember my girl’s comments when she saw it: wow, now thats one ugly interior!

The Mercedes interior is terrible. If BMW is doing the same (as seen on the other thread), good luck to them, I wont buy one.

Looks GORGEOUS to me.

Curious, how old are you? Could be a demographic thing.

Yeah and I do think i'm in the minority here, as I've seen lots of people all over the internet loving how it looks.

Just interesting how it can read really differently to different people, but it's the same with all styling I suppose.

I'm in my late 30's.
