Blue vs red calipers 2024 M440i GC
I can't find a way via the configurator to keep the default blue calipers when choosing the $400 Shadowline Package. When you choose the Shadowline Package, a sub-part of that is red calipers. I like what the Shadowline Package brings, but really like the look of the blue calipers - does anyone know if there's any way to get the Shadowline but exclude the red caliper sub package?

Per the ordering guide, the M440i GC only comes with red calipers with the Shadowline package. To get blue calipers, no Shadowline.

Maybe I'll have them painted post-delivery. I don't know how easy it would be to have blue over the existing red though, nor do I know if calipers are as straightforward to re-paint as other random objects...

Guess they feel the black accents go with the red better. I couldn't find a way to get blue either.

I didn't realize you were stuck one way or the other. I liked the red because I've had blue ones and it wasn't common (at the time) for BMW to have red calipers.

This may be a configurator limitation. It wasn't always this way. When I ordered my car about 1.5 years ago, the configurator let you choose which color calipers.
The reason I think it is a configurator limitation is because the pricing guide shows that with Shadowline Package ZHO, you can choose 3M2 M Sport Brakes with Red Calipers or 2NH M Sport Brakes with Blue Calipers Talk to a sales associate. I think they can specify the option you want in your order. |

I had the same question since I wanted blue calipers with shadowline to go with the black interior with blue stitching: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2014213
NLJ pointed out that the pricing guide only gives the red or blue choice for 430, not 440, which sounds backwards to me. My CA and a genius at my dealership tried to check if it was possible to select blue but the system didn't let them. |

When you select the Extended Shadowline package the calipers change from blue to red and you can't change back. |

Right. I have an M4440i GC XDrive in production. Mine is Portimao blue with Cognac sensatec.
I specifically did not get shadow line package because I want the blue M calipers to match the Portimao blue. I just think the Portimao looks better with the blue calipers...but know others like the blue/red combination. My wife's white X3 M40i has the blue calipers and its a great blue. More understated than red... I also didn't go for the shadow line package because I didn't like the way the blacked out grill blended in the front. The cerium grey IMO gives a better contrast and blends better with the badging. Of course the best solution would be for the configurator to let buyers select the caliber color of their choosing...red or blue. |
