"Lightweight" version of whatever car the designation is put on. The can make a lighter weight version of the 8-series .

Indeed, it would put it in GT3RS price territory, they would have to make a hell of a good car at that price point for it to compete.

If you go back to earlier posts in this thread, forum member lemetier who has inside knowledge has already suggested that’s not the case.

It would appear this may be a test mule for a bespoken CSL Homage model using the new P58 engine coupled to a transaxle.

Maybe they are just testing it without the electric engine at first so it doesnt need the hybrid test vehicle marking yet

I think its next gen 8 series, maybe a facelift. Bmw realizes they cannot sell this car for so much without a mid-engine. 6 series will be front engine

That new mustang moves around the track nicely. The louvers on it and from a distance looks like a mustang.

Havent there been rumors of a larger car spawning from the Z4/Supra architecture, which have shown to be great driver's cars? I think that would be the car to look out for and surely be able to compete with right motor and trans

Makes more sense to compete it to a Turbo S

That's a Mustang. Ford was just super trolling everyone by placing some conjoined kidneys on their test mule.

An M8CSL would be primarily track focused, so not a Turbo-S competitor.

I'd say the M8Competition is aimed at the 911 Turbo (non-S).

m8 will never compete with a Porsche Turbo or any 911- too fat/heavy, much different driving dynamics. They are much different cars. One a sports car the other a luxury GT.

The M8 Comp is slower by 8 seconds around the ring then the only "450hp" Carrera S. Two diff cars drive them and you know they are def not aimed at the same demographic. Not knocking the M8 but a Porsche competitor it certainly is not

I agree, the 911 is far superior dynamically. But I don’t agree that the 911T and M8c are not aimed at the same demographic. Very few will track their 911T. Both, the M8 and 911T are extremely fast luxury GTs in the same price range, with one being better dynamically and the other more practical.
