Anyone have this installed on their car? Curious as to how the install worked and does it work well.

I have it on mine, does what it says on the tin. Not amazing in terms of image quality, there are better ones out there. I guess one of its USPs is the radar for recording while the vehicle is off.

Seems like an overpriced, underperforming dashcam.

I would read the reviews of it at https://www.amazon.com/BMW-Advanced-...ews/B07Q2HRXRG. The only positive review I could find was from someone who just got it and admits that haven’t evaluated it yet.

They don’t seem to post any specifications for the camera anywhere I could find but from reviews it seems it only has 1080p resolution and only records at 30fps if using both front and rear cameras at the same time.

The only thing it seems to have going for it is its aesthetics.

The only other positive I think would be the dealer could not contest any possible future electrical issues that they otherwise would argue if using an aftermarket dash cam.

Definitely not the best dashcam option. The place to learn and compare dashcams is DashCamTalk.

I would investigate the newer BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0.

I believe it is a lot better than the v2.0, looking at getting it installed on my g20.

That dose look like a much better dashcam if the specs found at https://www.bmw.com.sg/en/topics/off...s/ace3pro.html are true. Still 30fps but much better resolution.

I would love to see some examples of its video in different lighting conditions. A camera’s ability to capture good video in low lighting as well as in motion are often the difference in seeing a plate number of another car or not.

Discussions on dashcamtalk.com seem to indicate that this is a rebadged Thinkware dashcam.

Plus the parking mode works quite okay and you should have a guarantee that the BMW OEM camera does not cause any error messages or drain your battery.
