Hey there guys ,

I have been noticing a creaking or chattering coming from my driver side door when going over roughy roads and was wondering if anyone knows the source ?

I know it’s not the sunroof because I just replaced the rubber seal and that stopped sunroof creaks for good .

This noise is distinctly to the side of my head coming from the driver side door


Any help identifying the cause would be much appreciated.

I had something similar and it was hard to pinpoint because the sound just resonates. For me it was the sunroof, and greasing it with the special BMW lubricant cured 95% of the noise (it was a creak, not a rattle). Directly to the side of you head could be the B-Pillar panel. Could also be the clips in the door panel. Was it ever removed? Apparently the clips are supposed to be one time use. I also saw somewhere where someone shoved felt along the sides to create a gap. Unfortunately I think it's just a matter of trying things out and seeing what helps.
