Is anyone else experiencing the bluetooth connection randomly going out? I will be mid drive while the entire phone disconnects and the music and apple carplay both go off. I cannot reconnect to the phone again for sometime as it just fails with bluetooth connect error. This has happened multiple times to me already and I just picked up the car last weekend. If I come back to the car after a few hours, the connection will reappear. I have an iphone xs max.

Check the X5 forums as they've been working thru iDrive7 issues for a while. I see people over there saying software 3/2019.45 seems to be better with the Bluetooth disconnect issues. If your iDrive7 software is less than this version, try the remote software update option in iDrive. If no software update downloads or the remote update option doesn't show up in your car, you'll likely need to take car to dealer for a full istep upgrade.
