Aye that does make the difference. Now when your opening the door do they switch on right away or just as the door is extending outwards??

I think they come on straight away, same as the standard lights

There are some new projectors coming for BMW models. With new graphics as well. If the underside of your door has a rectangular light installed then you should be able to buy the projector light and then the inserts with the different graphics.

Please be aware that under door lights on G20s are smaller than those used on F30s -- I tried my door projector lights from my 2014 F30 and they didn't fit

Pardon the paint chipping garage floor but yeah they worked really well. They shut off after a couple of minutes as advertised. Install maybe took 2 minutes

The projector lights that is the topic of this thread are in addition to the wavy lights you show. Open your door and run your hand under the door's bottom edge; about halfway, your hand will be illuminated -- that is the light we are referring to; at night it shows up as a "mini-spot" under door you can get lights with different patterns from Roundel to //M to flags. Our cars, G20, use a different light than others so be careful when you look for one

I have been mixed on whether the projector lights are gimmicky but I admit I bit when I say Possible’s post for the Amazon Roundel projectors LEDs. As a matter of fact, I got them today and just put in the driver’s side light. Aside from the pins on the LEDs being crooked and needing to be manipulated to fit the plug, they look cool but then you go and have to post this! Now I want the M Performance projector lights!

Side note: These used to be gimmicky things only on Amazon/eBay/AE but then BMW adopted them as options so that must make them legitimate and cool, right? Same with the “floating center caps” BMW offers at $150. Those started life back in about 2004 when a guy invented “Bimmer Spinners” that did the exact same thing. I got a set for my E53 at a cost of $75, IIRC. The guy got a cease and desist from BMW so he went out of business and BMW wound up stealing his idea and selling it to us.

EDIT: Those M Performance projectors do not fit the M340i. Bummer....

From experience you can't take the aftermarket ones apart, I'm sure it won't be long until more options become available for the G20

Would I be right in saying that when you buy the aftermarket, they offer you normally three logos, so when you choose one that's it for the life of the light?

I also bought the projector from amazon link earlier in this thread and although it doesn't have the changeable slides, it works very well. Also 18$ for a pair vs $160. It's bright. Works well. Easy install.
