Lost one of two keys
Hey guys, so unfortunately I lost my second key, I haven't lost a key in maybe 10 years but 1 month into owning this car and I lose one of two lol. Lost it out of state at work unfortunately.
Now I only have one key and the digital key card. I went to a dealer and they charged me $400 for a key. They're saying it's an additional $280 to program the comfort access, only the buttons on the fob will work according to them if they dont program it. Key will be here in a few days. I remember reading somewhere that the keys can be programmed in idrive, is that possible with only 1 key and one digital card? Trying to avoid turning this into a $700 mistake lol. Thanks everyone. |

I also lost a key (also 1st time ion many years) & believe (based on parts manager statements) you can use iDrive and the spot on the steering column to program - however since I think I lost mine closer to home, I paid the $300 fee to have them remove the lost key & program the new one in - I still had to associate it with the correct profile
