Last night the My BMW app no longer said unsupported device on my S23U but I could not get the key set up, try as I might, Samsung wallet would not support it.



I did receive an email telling me to set up my phone as the "main key" and to click the link in the email from the car. I just went to the garage and did the dance of the digital key and tada! it worked, and I also got an email. I have tested the unlock but not the drive but it looks like things have been updated and my Samsung wallet now shows BMW as available

What year is your car? My 2019 still doesn't show digital key in the my BMW app so I still can't add it but agree it shows in my Samsung wallet now but won't work unless the app let's me do it.

Si frustrating as it used to work so well until BMW took the option away for pre July 2021 models. Still don't know why they did that.

Noticed it was no longer saying unsupported phone earlier this week, setup with my '21 m340, registration flow doesn't seem to fully work, it looked like it hung up towards the end but it ended up completing successfully.

Only issue is it seems to not like if you have the phone and fob at the same time, comfort access stops working and ended up leaving my car unlocked on the street overnight. Digital key seems cool as a backup but don't see it replacing a regular fob for me anyway.

How to tell if you can use Digital Key on Samsung devices: look in Samsung Wallet to see if BMW is listed. Obviously, your car has to come with the feature. Some didn't have it for various reasons. Initially, I didn't see it there with my S23 Ultra, but now I do. I added it about a week ago-ish. Glad we can use the feature now.

lucky your country even has Samsung Wallet - i can't get the Wallet app where I am and no key!

I have a 2020 M340. Digital key worked great for a about a year; back then, I had a Samsung S8 & BMW stopped supporting, claiming the hardware won't support

Now I have a Samsung S21+ & Samsung Wallet includes BMW as a "partner", but when I click on BMW in Samsung Wallet me to MyzBMW app. After entering my PIN, however, still do not have panel in app to set up app. The odd thing is that my phone's Samsung Pay works wherever I see the Apple Pay icon, even some very old systems!

Looks like they opened up the compatibility. I was able to set it up on my Galaxy Fold4 yesterday. As of a couple months ago, it wasn't compatible.

I too have an S23 Ultra and last night was shown support for digital key.

I tried Set up the process and got an error message:

Your Digital Key is not supported in Samsung Wallet
2022 M240i
Australia Region.
Latest Firmware with April Security Patch.

No updates are fro the wallet available yet.

Will attempt again after I clear the cache and optimise apps again. But dare say I need Wallet update currently on Version 5.2.01

I use Google wallet by default I hope that's not a conflict

Try Samsung Wallet and see if you can get it to work - that's where my digital key is stored on my S23U.

Not working either. Going to put it down to a regional update. Will need to wait for AUS to be updated 1st I guess.
