The M340i has been a pleasant surprise so far. Great for everyday driving and an to satisfy that urge to step on the pedal.

I'll try to get a better video soon. The one I took was from a rolling start while merging onto the freeway. I need to get a mounted camera or something lol

He always picked it up for me. But as far as I know, you can flash European version cars, just need to check which software version you have. My car has the November software, and if it won't be a solution until next week, I will send my ECU to mission performance to bank flash it. Hope this helps you. |

Problem is the latest software from BMW that prevents remote flashing. But you need to talk with Alex, he will find a solution for you. Have you sent an email to sales@missionperformance? It's Christmas time, so because of that he is probably busy or on holidays. |

And more useful information. Since I am a chemist by training and love experiments, I changed the oil in the transmission ZF 8HP 51. I was not satisfied with the algorithm of switching gears down, felt twitching. And switching from first to second gear. I'm happy now. Be can whom thread will help information.

If until end next week Alex won't have a solution for the new software, I will send my ECU. He will unlock it on the bench and install the remapped files on it. Than is just plug and play when I'll get it back. Downside is from sending and receiving the ECU back, I'll be without my car at least 2 weeks. |

So, just for the sake of clarity, this statement by Mission in the original post is incorrect right?
"After a LOT of work and nearly frying this brand new ECU 5 times, we were able to bypass all of the BMW protection, and now we have a fully ability to crack even the newest bootloader available. And all of this can be done over OBD2 port."

Fast forward to today – the very latest rev of software has been cracked by Mission Performance. From what I gathered at a recent BMW meet (Alex attended) MP is not publicizing this because Alex fully expects a new rev to be released very soon which will once again necessitate cracking – so he is waiting to address the new rev along with his announcement. In the meantime anyone is welcome to visit him at his shop in SoCal (yes he has a brick and mortar, yes you can meet him, yes he will likely buy you a sandwich if it’s around lunch – no he is not a virtual company) or mail him your DME and he can readily open ANY DME (including ones loaded with the latest rev) and tune your car. Keep in mind tuning is not the issue – it is the cracking of the DME. Many tuners can bench flash cars but very few can service their customers remotely and globally. Hope this helps – just passing along what I have gathered :-) ps- I saw your post re AA - if you need further clarity (I often come up short) re MP - please give them a call and let us know what you find out - congrats on your new M340! In full disclosure I am a huge MP fan (just because over the years and many cars they have earned my trust and respect) - but I also respect and wish success for all tuners out there |
