I went to BMW diplomatic sales branch. They carry both EU and US spec cars. Ill have to go and verify again which one was it, though Im sure it had reflectors so it was NA spec

The road noise i get when driving on the HWY is based on the shitty run flat tires they put on these cars.
Such Tiny Little 225 series tires and Run Flats make them loud. i wonder if this has anything to do with it. I will say my 435i was quieter |

Sometimes
I occasionally get a whistle on the drivers side window. Not from the mirror. Sometimes I can eliminate it by lowering the mirror and raising it again... sometimes that doesn't help. Not much of a bother though... my music is usually up pretty high.

I tried to find the source but no success for now. Should we investigate a little bit more and share the results? I noticed that I get it more when it's windy. |

That's an understatement. Wind noise, road noise, all sorts of noise in the cabin. It really wasn't enjoyable for my commute. The G20 is so much quieter.

I have a G20 330i without insulated glass and even that suffers from horrible wind noise. I thought my B9 A4 was bad till I got this car. It is so much worse when it comes to wind noise. Probably the weird shape of the rear view mirrors and the creases on the hood directing wind to the mirrors? Honestly the B9 has so much less wind noise in comparison. Their ORVM design was amazing. Including fins on the ORVM caps to reduce noise and drag (I’m guessing)

I've driven B9 and my car is even quieter, or at least as quiet as B9. General opinion among owners and independent reviewers is that G20 is a very quiet car. There must be something wrong with the rubber seals around your doors or windows. Get it checked in your service, cause in terms of wind noise this car is very quiet even above 160kmh. |

I haven’t driven another 330i so I can’t compare. I’ll definitely bring it up when I take my car in for servicing. A point to note is that the wind noise I mentioned is at speeds above 70mph. Below 60mph it isn’t bad at all. And no. No buyers remorse or anything of the sort. I really like the 330i. |

Well I've at least gotten rid of the rattles for the most part. Just driver side windows noise now but I'm used to it. Above 90mph it's not much fun.

I had a 2015 340i Msport and it had it's sounds, nicely put. Wind noise wasn't bad in mine, but tire and road noise was quite high for a "premium" US automobile. I now have a 2018 Audi S4 and the tire and road noise is only slightly less than the 340i. It's pretty much the same level of overall road and tires noise as my 340i. The wind sounds/noise is about the same as the 340i. In my case my 340i Msport was the older F30 chassis, and my 2108 S4 is a freshened up chassis that was concurrent with the F30. Your 330i is the new G20 chassis, right? Does the G20 M340i have different stock/OEM windows compared to the G20 330i? |

I'm not one to want absolute silence in a sport sedan. But, wind noise is not part of the sounds I associate with "performance". Tire noise is largely dependent on the choice of tires. The stock summer perf. tires on my S4 were noticeably quieter than the current Mich AS+3 tires on it now. I'm really enjoying the Quattro AWD with my S4. I loved it in my 2006 A4. I hope BMW's X drive has improved to be additive to the performance as Quattro is to Audi. If it is, I may decide to go with my first AWD BMW for my next car. |

Yes. I’ll be asking them auto check it out when I take it in for service since the dealership is more than an hour away and whenever I’m free, they don’t seem to have an opening.

Update: I thought I was having wind noise until I heard it at a stop!! It's the vent system somehow whistling at my drivers window. Turn up the vent, wind noise gets louder, turn it off, goes away. Speed affects it a little I presume due to air flow into vent system.
Can anyone else replicate this? |
