Sport+ mode vs Sport Individual exhaust note
Can anyone explain why Sport+ mode has a louder exhaust note than Sport individual with Engine set to Sport+? Am I missing something?

It shouldn't. Both exhaust valves are open. Do you have the transmission in Sport+ as well?

Transmission was set to normal so I have changed it but haven’t had the chance to drive it. It seems the exhaust flaps are open in all sports settings. Any idea how changing the transmission setting to sport+ impacts the exhaust sound?

I have MPE so I don't know if that makes a difference but from what I can tell Sport Individual with the Engine in Sport+ sounds the same as being in Sport+ mode.

I have mpe as well. In sport individual mode with transmission in regular sport it is quiter even with the engine in sport plus. I wish it was just as loud because I like have my individual mode to be softer suspension steering and less aggressive hear holding.

That's what I thought. This is why I wish there were two Individual settings. For me, one would be EVERYTHING in Sport+ with the exception of the adaptive suspension set to Comfort. Then I could have a more daily driver setting as my number two with the Engine and Transmission set to just Sport and the Suspension and Steering set to Comfort.

I did a full Muffler delete on my 2020 M340 it sounds absolutly insane..we kept the valves though so I can close it up on Comfort mode if needed..its still loud just not as much pops or cracks...On cold start if I drive relatively hard on the car it sounds absolutely crazy..I love it

Ressurecting this post as I just made another similar thread:
https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0#post29441080 Did anyone find that it was in fact different or is it placebo? Im thinking of coding the exhaust to run "sporty" but to my knowledge all it does is open the valve which sport already accomplishes. |

Couldn't it be the iconic sounds feature? Playing the sound of the engine to the speakers. I think it only activates in sport plus mode. This is the case with my M340D LCI.

On my 330i, I hear slight pops and burbles from outside the car when revving at idle on Sport in my garage. The sounds are much louder when done in Sport+ mode. I'm not talking about anything related to what's coming from the speakers, but what you actually hear externally.

Not sure how every model works but with the M440i I hear the exact same sounds when in Sport+ mode and when in Sport Individual with the transmission on its sportiest settings (can't remember if that's Sport or Sport+). All Sport Indy settings are at their max except suspension which is Comfort (ya know... for family trips).
