Spotify not loading

Hello,

Has anyone run into the problem of their Spotify not loading? It will stay on the loading screen but won't load. It happened one day but worked when I was leaving work. Today it didn't load again. Anyone know what to do?

It seems that Spotify and BMW have broken up.

I guess I'm confused. That thread is almost a year old, and I've been using the BMW app almost every day... are we talking about the same thing?

I had the same issue after the recent 03/2021 remote update.

I couple days later, there was an Android Auto updated and after that, Spotify started to work again.

I had 2 days when playlists would not load although the current selected playlist did play normally.

All working normally now.

Spotify still clearly stated as available on BMW uk website.

Hi, first post here but the Spotify issue is frustrating. It does work for me using Android Auto but hangs on loading using the built-in app. This is disappointing as it was one of my favorite things I liked about iDrive. Stopped after the last update, 3/21 I think.

My Spotify app stopped working yesterday, it keeps saying loading. Is there a way to reset/restart the iDrive system to see if that works?

I called BMW as mine was stuck on the loading screen when I click Spotify ever since the update. They said its a bmw wide issue due to the update. They told me they’re working on so have no timetable.

That post is from last year. I just got my car 2 months ago and it came preloaded with Spotify. I believe all new cars did. There was a remote update last week that has caused issues with Spotify and other Idrive 7 features.

Frozen Spotify App (in i-drive, stuck on loading)

I assume yall have found the i-drive frozen spotify app (endless loading) issue solution by now (so ignore the rest)!

But just posting here today, because this was the Google search thread that came up for me on my first experience w/ it in my car, so I joined this Bimmercode site to post for anyone new that deals with it. BMW Tech support didn’t even know how to arrive at the solution until I final suggested what worked 45 min later… SOLUTION: Go to your driver profile (where you have an icon in the top right of main screen), move to the guest (or other) driver profile (where you’ll probably see Spotify app is unfrozen and where you’ll be free to “scan QR”/manual login just fine), then you need to delete your personal driver profile while on guest, then go through the steps of re-adding your driver profile (will ask for either login confirm through the MyBMW app (a QR scan) or manual login…but it will walk you through all the steps from there). Then you should be good to go!

(No more frozen spotify app that you can’t reset or logout of, and you can finally once again scroll through all your playlist songs on heads up display like it’s 2015 again).
*Don’t waste all the time in the world like I did, trying to delete your device, delete spotify, remove bmw access from spotify, etc. etc. etc.
Try that first ^^^^

Rock on! -Andrew

What an absolute hero Andrew54 is. I've been fed up with this loading lark for 3 months, BMW couldn't fix it but this solution worked straight away. Well Done.

I have the issue that Idrive app Spotify will just not play any songs. It seems to happen if I skip a couple songs. It will just not play anymore. It will skip to another song but again the song will not load/play.

Starting to get annoyed by it.
