I also want to add the amazon hooks that phillyd2 added.

If there's a link to those hooks, that would be much appreciated.
I linked to them earlier in the thread.. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...8;postcount=19

After following this discussion I’ve dived in and ordered two of the VW/Audi type bag hooks from eBay. Seller is in China but at (£2.99) $3.50 each (including delivery) it’s worth a shot.

Time will tell .......

This was explained on page 1 of this thread. Extract below.

“Here is your pro tip for this one.. I bought a couple grocery bag hooks from a VW Passat and have been moving them to each new 3-series I have gotten. They are spring loaded and fold up automatically when not in use and work perfectly to secure a bunch of bags. I have 2 of them installed in my trunk.

https://www.amazon.com/Cargo-Trunk-P...R3B2HJYBP05EZZ

I use a small self tapping sheet metal screw to secure it to the top of the trunk. If you do this, please make sure that there is nothing on the other side of the body panel you drill into, look for wires, and make sure you don't drill through to the outside, be very careful. Also be sure to leave clearance for the trunk floor to swing up to the holder clip thing.”

I ordered my G20 M340i with no space saver spare and yes, I have the net and hooks. I'll snap some pics of the trunk and upload it when I get a chance.

Yeah wth my F30 330e had both the net and the hooks and just picked up the G20 330e today and it has neither, not cool
I still have my F30 boo tnet, did anyone find out if it is possible to retrofit the plastic holders for the net in the trunk floor? Any idea on part numbers?
Seem to me like parts 10/11 here: http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/F3...loor#7248530_2

Waiting for trial vw hook to arrive. Planning to experiment with using 3m double side tape (industrial strength) instead of drill. Will flush the back before pasting

Just drill those holes. It really is no big deal at all. There are even other holes already there - you can put your finger in to see how much clearance you actually have.

I finally got around to putting the VW hooks in my car and figured I would share the location of my holes. I previously ground the mounting face of the hook flat on a belt sander, 6 years ago I think, I have been moving these hooks to every new car. To make the holes I used a #2 center drill to pilot the holes which was very controlled and only went through the sheet metal about 2mm. I then stuck a thin drill bit into the holes to probe around and make sure nothing was above the panel, the 4 holes I drilled were all clear. I then used a sheet metal screw through the pilot hole to secure the hooks in place. Again.. your car might be different, please be careful, I take no responsibility for anything that happens to your car.

I do not. The spare tire false floor looks as high or higher than the nets would be, so they are pointless. The false floor is also raised so much that BMW might have assumed the 1 hook would not function well given it's location.

What size/length & type of self tapping screw did you use?

Looking at doing the same as you.

A #6 or #8 would likely work fine. Length depends on whether you use a self tapping and if you plan on removing the raised cylinders on the mounting face of the hooks. I removed the cylinders and did not use self tapping screws, mine were about 1/2" long, the amount of screw protruding out of the bottom of the hooks was about 1/4 inch, just enough to grip the sheet metal at full screw diameter.

I appreciate the response. Thanks

Any chance of a picture showing the screws in situ?
