It gives me a similar joy of driving as the Hellcat exhaust used to. Not the same noise, but exactly the same fun factor. Generates quite an addictive tone in Sport and Sport + modes. This exhaust contributes to making the car a fairly complete package for any enthusiast that goes the M340 route over an M3 to avoid the awful looks of the M3 like I did.

I had my MPE installed 2 days after taking delivery of my '22 M340 so I don't have a lot of experience with the stock setup. The posters here say after '20 the exhaust got quieter, and that may be the case. But, with the MPE my '22 pops and gurgles wonderfully in sport mode and is reasonably sedate in ECO mode. The valve is connected.
In my opinion, BMW nailed it with the MPE on these cars. In sport mode it makes itself known without sounding like an overcompensating pr*ck. But if I want to keep it classy into ECO mode it goes, and then she purrs like a kitten. I've taken multiple long highway trips with passengers and drone has never been an issue. Riding in ECO mode 90% of the time. |
