Or go full out crazy and remove the "40i" and just keep the M and the 3

Hmmm you might be on to something there - while I am of course expecting a decrease in both HP and Ego when I remove the M badge by simply removing the 40i I imagine both would actually increase!

Furthermore I probably wouldn't have a need to transfer my MP tune to the new car with all the new found power

chenry was actually saying that they DON'T think this car is diluting the M brand. You completely misunderstood what they wrote. They're just saying they think the badges look cluttered/cheap.

What if you kept just M and 0 and carefully dremelled off < from the 4 , that would show them you have M10. Instant Baller Status

I agree with the OP. Before delivery I was thinking of removing the M as well. Now it doesn’t bother me but I get it. I do prefer a sleeper and just wanted a 6 cyl. I did not need the body kit.

Modern bmws are becoming about badge envy though. Removing the badges is akin to ordering a grilled cheese, but without the cheese.
