Are people still awaiting the 07.2021 version to be available on the app/ car to download?

Mines a July 2019 production date car and usually I get the prompt to update fairly quickly after it is announced.

Yep I'm still waiting. Had the updates up until 03.21 without issue. Car is a 330i Apr 2019 production date. Also don't have digital key on my android my bmw app

TBH, not really that bothered. Only thing I would like them to sort out is the rev counter in HUD showing when "in SPORTS mode" only.

Nope, 03/21 for me too on my July 2020. I’ve been checking once a week or so too, what are the changes?

Also on android digital key, guess now they’ve stopped it they’re not gonna change the older versions to the iPhone Digital Key like speculated are they.

I think the main changes are to do with the lane assist and not trying to pull you through a hedge when you go over the lines on a country road : )

Every update I’ve had has downloaded and then frozen during installation. I’ve had to go to the dealer to sort it.

I’m nervous of ever allowing another update onto my 2020 M340i after 03/2021.50 ruined the exhaust sound. I’m also worried that BMW will, again, surreptitiously introduce features that weren’t on the car when it was bought (e.g. the annoying stop/start thing not being able to be switched off or, worse, auto non-cancellable speed limiters being introduced)!

Apart from briking the car and not having it for a week the last update on mine seemed fine.

My 320d, registered Dec 2020, is now on 07/2021.50 delivered OTA. It downloaded to my phone and when I put the phone in the car it notified me and update in about 20 minutes.

I’m in the software business so have some idea of the complexity of delivering OTA updates but it does seem that for BMW it’s not very consistent.

I would say it's more the process of updating rather than the patch version that killed it.
The BMW breakdown and service guys did say it was rare but does happen and had no issues up to that point.
At the end of the day it's a sw update on a computer and laws of averages are it will go wrong sometimes same as a Windows update.

I received the 03/2021 via OTA early July.
