Hi Everyone,

I have recently got a 430i cabriolet configured to my specification for a factory order around 2 weeks ago. I know there is a chip shortage until August but hoping to get in to the september build to get all of my desired features. The problem is that BMW has not been able to confirm that even September would be possible and that I’ll have to wait for another month before I can get a concrete answer. Anyone else in the same boat?

The chip shortage issues will exist beyond August. May be an issue for another 2 years, but what we're experiencing now is likely as bad as it will get. Appears BMW's approach is to reserve some options for higher end models (in each series). I suppose as constraints ease, BMW could do a mid year update and open some options for lower spec models. Expect MY22 to be another interesting year.

Thanks a lot for your input. So, I you think its better to get in Aug build with the restrictions as there does not seem an end to it?
