Latest G20 / G21 3-Series LCI facelift refresh info

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
From the BMW future model info thread:

G20/G21 refresh is disappointing. Yes, it will have the new dash and some exterior and interior changes. However, the powertrains will remain the same across the board, with the lonely (and pretty much irrelevant) exception of Euro-only Alpina B3 bumping the power to 490hp.

The models for G20/G21 LCI and two new G26 models are now:

G20 LCI:
318i, 320i, 320ix, 330i, 330ix, M340i, M340ix, 320e, 330e, 330ex, 316d, 318d, 320d, 320dx, 330d, 330dx, M340dx, Alpina B3, Alpina D3S

G21 LCI:
318i, 320i, 320ix, 330i, 330ix, M340ix, 320e, 330e, 330ex, 316d, 318d, 320d, 320dx, 330d, 330dx, M340dx, Alpina B3, Alpina D3S

G26:
430dx, M440i

it really is nuts when you realize just how many models and variations BMW offers now.

Im sad the powertrains were not changed at all. Was the m sport bumper leaked or was it the sport line bumper that got leaked?

Looking forward to seeing the interior. But I guess its just an i4.

We don't get a 316D in the UK...assume thats the C.C. punishing markets like Greece?

I was expecting a mild power bump on the M340i, disappointing indeed.

I'd be curious the split between the RWD/AWD models. I have never seen a RWD model in a dealers inventory here in Chicago when looking. Granted it's the Midwest, but figured I'd at least see a few.

So to clarify, the B3 gets a power bump to 490hp, but it already has the S58 engine right now I believe.

Go to Florida or SoCal and you'll see 95% RWD models in inventory.

Yes.

& not surprised about the lack of new engines. The end is near.

The headlights look nice though. More pronounced open angel eyes. They're not even eyes anymore really, more like angel eyebrows lol

Why is it disapointing?
Who cares about power train upgrades. Just give me an electric touring, couldn't care less for all the fossil fuel ones.
In the interior is where I am when driving, those upgrades on the other hand is what's important.

Any word on whether the US will get some of the previously only EU options? i.e. M seats, carbon roof, acoustic glass etc.

Ah, so I looked at the wrong specs for comparison (obviously Alpinas are on the far periphery of my attention). Which means that there are no engine updates of any kind at all.

That was my initial thought as well, but I kind of just think about it as two physically different body styles but with several configurations, similar to how options work. The different powertrains and engines are just options, but happen to have different model designations. Imagine if they also had different model numbers if you spec'd adaptive suspension, different packages, or things like that.
