BM3 CustomROM Supported B58 AntiLag

BM3 announced that the CustomROM is now supported for the B58 Gen 2.
This should give us Anti Lag ability. Steering wheel map switching and some other functions.

Has anyone tried this yet?

It seems we need to "convert" the current maps to a CustomROM somehow?

I'm not sure what your question is?
BM3 and Gen2 B58 anti lag and flex fuel has been released and I included the description in my screenshot above from the app for example.

It's also in the latest desktop bootmod3 app update when you update to the latest version you have the alert with description.

I just don't know how to get it to work?

Thanks for clarifying I am not running BM3 right now but tested my dme for it last week and it need a bench unlock.

For me the steering map swtich is the game changer to get back into tuning.

Antilag

I have just recently updated my BM3 app to support B58-TU anti-lag support. Map switching as of this post is not yet available but it will show up under CustomROM. What you will have to do is get an OTS map that is CustomROM supported or you can just change your current map to CustomROM. But I have used anti-lag the past few days and it works great, after you flash the new tune it should work. From experience, you have to be at about 3k rpm and it works really well.

Sweet yeah it seems we need to have a CustomROM enabled map tune file.
Whether it is OTS or a from a custom tuner.

Question is how do we get the current OTS maps to be supported by the CustomROM?

I also emailed PJT on what the next steps are for the custom tune maps for CustomROM.

For anyone still following this. It seems like PTF will have to release new OTS maps that will support CustomROM.
I think we have to wait. At least based on their newest post on Instagram with the B58 CustomROM announcement.

Anyone else also receiving this message when trying to flash anti-lag on the 2020 m340i?

With the new CustomROM you should get a new OTS map and configure it to your liking and then anti-lag will be on your car as soon as you flash.

But I have been having an over-boost problem where it starts to jerk my car back and forth really hard and I don't wanna break anything, just a fair warning. It could just be my car but you never know with new features on new engines.

That’s normal when changing software. If your DME is already unlocked you can just do as it says in that message and use that force flash with unlock option in the flash menu.

So I got my DME version finally updated to the CustomROM.
But it only shows up to 93 octane. There is a option for flex fuel. I have no idea how that would work?

Has anyone had any experience? I guess I will go back to 93 octane. Just to try this OTS map and anti lag.

You need to hook up a flex fuel sensor into something like a Zeitronix ECA2 that connects to CANBUS in the car. That will send alcohol content to the DME and you get flex fuel mapping with that MultiMap. BM3 also have their own kit coming out soon for this:

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but how did you update the DME for the CustomROM. I just installed all this today and couldn’t see any option to do so.

Just for clarification, the custom ROM can be installed by the app?
You don´t need to send out the DME to FEMto again?

I've had a conversation with BM3 support and they asked me to hold off sending to Femto for custom rom until they have a new release. EDIT: I'm not unlocked currently.

That would be the case only for Mild Hybrids for which we're working on support currently.

Do you have a general estimate on timing? 1 month, 6 months, or longer? Not going to hold you to it, but I'm planning things around when it is available and downtime during the transit of the DME.

I was told a “few weeks” away for full MH support. I’m actually kind of in same boat as you in terms of planning (installing PI and LPFP) things with my shop. Figure 10-14 days of downtime while the DME needs to be sent to femto
