Downpipe install m340

I just got quoted $500 for a Downpipe install(moved to a new city). This seems insane compared to the costs to install a Downpipe on my 435 and M4. How much did you guys pay?

It's a 30-45 minute job on a lift (mine didn't even take that long). So at most an hour of shop labor. Anyone that charges more should be avoided imho because they either don't know what they're doing or are price gouging
Hope this helps

Hey, thanks a lot for the quick reply. The same shop quoted me $800 to install dinan springs, my previous shop charged me $350 to install COILOVERS/shocks on my M4. Is it more labor to do the job on the m340?

As I recall I paid about $350-$400ish for my Dinan spring install (M340) and that included an alignment that I returned for after a couple hundred miles

I was quoted in CT from $650 - 900 for a DP install. Ended up grabbing beers and jack stands and figured it out myself.

Just had a DP installed two weeks ago for $250. Was also quoted $500 and $660. Three separate shops all in the same metro. It's worth checking a few places.

Go somewhere else, I would not pay over $200 for the downpipe install.

I'd say $200-$450 is fair depending on your location.

I’m getting rid of my M340. I would be willing to give away my 5” catted downpipe if someone local wants it and if they would be willing to pay for the labor to remove it.

I’m based in Spain. Would I get in trouble if I removed the particle filter and installed a down pipe

About 5,000 miles. My lease is up in June and wanted to order a M5 but I’m 7th on the list and certain options are starting to drop so I would have no idea what I would be getting so I ended up ordering a Tesla Plaid. I didn’t realize it would be done in less than a month so now I have to put my car back to stock and sell it.

Sorry, wasn’t sure if you meant the high flow cat or the car. Car has almost 30,000 miles.

Ask your dealer a "hypothetical" question, sometimes they don't care. I was told that if I came in with an issue and they believed it was related to an aftermarket part, they would tell me to put the stock part on and come back. If your asking about legally, you should probably find out how or if they check, and how much fines are.

I would consider myself a beginner when it comes to car mechanics. However, I performed a downpipe install today on my 2021 M340i in just over two hours using race ramps. The hardest part was getting to the bracket bolts, but very manageable to do for a novice. I know the ramps would cost more the install most likely, but wanted to do it myself.

What downpipe did you get? What other mods do u have? nice job my guy.

Unfortunately, for myself. I do not trust myself to work on my car and I have 0 tools.

The cheapest place I found was $200. And that was just a guy I met at a car meet at his garage. The best shop in my area quoted me $400. But i also have a really good mechanic friend and we settled on $250!
