I'm using CrossClimate+ and have had them since February. Non RFT version but the correct rating etc, great tyres and a lot safer than the Bridgestones it originally had

I've fitted 18" staggered winter tyres - star rated Pirelli Sottozero. I was going to fit a square set-up, but had a look through the idrive, and there's an option in there to select winter tyres, and specify the rear tyre being 255/40/18.
So far so good. Cooks |

Hope you get on well with them. I had Winter tyres on my e61 and since then, use All Season. I reckon that in the past 10 years, I might have had occasion to use full winters on 1 day, and found the Grabber AT3 (M+S) on my Amarok were more than OK. Having said that, I did take the RWD e61 to the Alps on it's winters and was grateful for them when the cheap snow chains I had fell to pieces within about 2 miles.
(As an aside, I never buy cheap snow chains! I've got quite a collection growing now with CU9 and KU33, none which fit my current car. However I have found a company that does an exchange service for £35. So All Seasons (M+S, 3PMSF) + snow chains should see me right)

We live on a fairly steep hill, and if there is any snow, it largely renders the road unpassable. Every winter, neighbours have to park cars at the bottom of the hill and walk home. Thankfully I've never had to do that, though using winter tyres at this time of year.
Must have a look at snow chains, I'm intrigued. Thanks. Niall |
