@Dinan_Engineering what parameters are the new Dinantronics X able to manipulate? Does it more precisely tune air/fuel/ignition compared to the Dinantronics elite or is it more or less a re-brand with a new control module?

You're better off emailing them directly for more info on their products. Of course, there might be some delays in response as I'm sure they are super busy this week

I’m interested to hear this as well. Seems like a reasonable plug n play option.

Essentially a rebrand/relaunch. The raw chips used in the V2 were on their way to being discontinued before the pandemic and that was only hastened during it so we were going to have to source a new chip in it anyway. At the same time the old DINANTRONICS with the NASA harnesses really needed to be switched out given the costs involved and the aging product line (those old harnesses cost more then a full DPT X kit). So we decided to just do a full replacement of the inline tuner line entirely and the DPT X was born.

The X is best thought of as the next generation of the DPT Elite V2. The X just has bluetooth control whereas V2 does not and doesn't carry the factory matching warranty. Going forward that factory matching warranty is reserved for the Dinan+ flashes on the engine tuning front.

It's interesting that the Dinantronics sport tuner is compatible with the G20, yet the "X" does not have the G20 listed as an applicable model.

An X for the G20's is coming down the line as well. Just a matter of time. The SPORT and X, while similar in that they are in-line tuners, are a bit different in execution. The SPORT unit applies a static amount of additional boost across the entirety of the RPM range (2k+). There isn't much to it, its a basic boost controller. The X on the other hand is a bit more involved and requires a bit more "tuning" as that additional boost is variable.

So it's not compatible then? It's not clear on the website. You can't buy an X that works with a G20 330i? If not, any idea on ETA?

Not compatible with the G20's (330i or M340i) at present. Do not have an ETA to give for when they may be available. In the current environment with chip and harness manufacturing backlogs its a crapshoot quite honestly.

Can we assume the B48/46 in the new G42 will enjoy the same compatibility...like a one-and-the-same product release for the G20/42??? I'm assuming so, but...

That would be our assumption as well but until we get our G42 in shop its still just speculation as far as we are concerned.

What is the difference between the DINANTRONICS X for the G chassis vs. the JB4? Does the X also plays w/ fuel, air, etc.?

Thanks
