Just started shopping around for a G26: one SoCal dealership quoted me a 'negotiable' $10,000 markup...for the M440i with least amount of options on their lot

I see you're in NorCal. Have you contacted Peter Pan BMW and BMW of San Francisco? Both were offering at least 7% off MSRP on ordered M440i coupes several months ago (and had allocations - I don't know whether they still do.) You have to ask persistently for the discount or they won't offer it. Even Stevens Creek BMW offered 6% after I asked for it.

M440i Grand Coupes might be another story altogether. PM me if you want contacts.

I was using the inventory search on the BMW website, and saw some of the SoCal dealerships had the spec that I wanted. I guess I'm in no rush so I'll see what comes through Peter Pan or SF in the next several months, and hit you up for those contacts if I see something that I like. Thanks!

You may end up with a better price shopping your build around to different dealers. It would be worth a try anyway.

Any recent 330e dealer discounts?

Shopping around for a new 330e. I'm getting consistent rebate information for the most part but have yet to have a dealer offer any dealer discount on top of the rebates. Haven't really pushed them yet or negotiated yet so curious if anyone who recently purchased a 330e has had any luck getting any dealer discount on top of rebates?

I know there are lots of variables and times change, but when we bought our X5 45e last year I was able to get a 5.68% dealer discount and then some significant rebates (when state EV discounts were higher).

My local dealer has 70% of the cars they are getting delivered that are already sold. The way they are moving units I don't think they are offering really any incentives or discounts

Supply may be artificially limited as well.

Pricing Question

I'm new to BMW, I apologize for the noob question in advance. I found a dealer that has 3 2021 330i xdrive with Sportline, Driving Assistance, and Premium Package for $39,995, is this a good deal? Or I can get a 2022 with the same options for $43,207. Are these steals MSRP is $49,295.

Checking in again for December - has anybody been able to get any % off m340i? Looks like it's been MSRP or 2-4% based on Leasehackr spreadsheets.

Also, are people leasing or financing? Before the shortage, leasing was a no-brainer but now time has changed.

I wouldn't expect this market to improve for at least a year.

THere is no way you can lease in this market. With an MSRP deal, you are more likely to end up closer to 2% than 1%, much less under 1%.

I much prefer leasing, but I had no choice but to buy this time around. My lease was going to be north of $900/mon for a $70k msrp CV, that is crazy talk....I'll just keep it longer and spread the pain out over more months....hope I love it.

I'm very interested to see sales stats for the 4th quarter of this year. I suspect a lot of people are going to start balking at these prices - but - who knows how resilient the market is. Sales numbers, controlled for supply constraints, will be the proof.

BMW has already said they are going to control supply well into the future, which is code for less inventory sitting around. They have become addicted to low to no incentives and the dealers are making a killing as well. Don't let the gloom and doom around a typical dealer fool you. Sales volume (in larger markets anyway) is up over 2019 and per car margins are WAY up over 2019.

They're making hay while the sun shines. When the market turns, the incentives will return. The question becomes where the breaking point is for consumers.

This is completely ridiculous! Even for this market.

For the past few months I've been watching inventory and there have been no M340i's on dealer lots. Sometimes they will show some in-transit vehicles but they disappear shortly.

Now two dealers in my area are showing a handful of M340i's on their lots. And traditionally I hear Dec-Jan are slower months for dealers? Maybe that will mean a bit more willingness to deal, or maybe they're in no rush to sell the cars and will hang on to them knowing that people will come around who will be willing to pay MSRP or higher for them. Either way, I'm still expecting that the days of getting a M340i lease in the $700/mo territory or less are long past.

We'll prob buy out our M340. No way I'm letting a dealer take advantage of me. What goes around, comes around. If they are going to take advantage of customers now due to supply, it's going to come back to them when the market returns to normal and they have aging inventory

I am financing. BMW Finance has a 0.9% APR/up to 60 months offer good till Jan 3, 2022 & they will lock the rate for 90 days. I plan to put in my credit app by that due date.

By some miracle, local dealer I had worked with a few months ago was able to get an allocation for Munich-built 330i with the specs/options I gave him. I put down a $1k fully-refundable deposit & car should be here early Feb 2022 or hopefully before the rate lock expires.

Keep the penfed discount/rebate in mind. You can get 1.9ish% from BofA and get the full penfed rebate (in my case is $2,500 - not sure what it is for your car, but probably $2,000). Your account needs to be open for 60 days though, so chop chop if you want to go this route.
