"BWM drivers argue that they don't need to indicate" would be a fantastic stereotype affirming headline.

You are misrepresenting what I wrote. I never said that we should not be using indicators at all.

And no, if I was going out of a side road and someone was coming from my right indicating left, I wouldn't go until I was absolutely sure he wouldn't carry on going straight. This based on the number of people I have seen indicating wrongly or forgetting to cancel.

Agree with you about trusting other people and their indicators. Was always taught to drive defensively and that it is best to never trust other drivers (or rather, never think that you know what they are going to do) and instead think that they're going to do something stupid (so as to be prepared as and when they do).

Clearly, I don't think anyone would pull out if you got to a give-way and someone was approaching with their indicator already going, but if you see them slow and indicate, as in my example, the world would move very slowly if you sat there and waited when their intention was very apparent.
