Feels like bent rotor
My 2020 M340i has just under 22000 miles and lately i have been feeling like there is a bent rotor. I can feel it in the break pedal and also a slight shake in the car when i apply the breaks. This is my first BMW and is it normal for breaks to go this quickly?? I have had a Civic Type-R, WRX, Mazdaspeed3, Lancer Ralliart and none of these cars have even come close to needing of new rotors with such low miles. And from your experience, is it better to get it done at my BMW shop or a local garage? My break pad lights have never turned on yet. I have my regular scheduled oil change maintenance next week and i am going to ask them to look over the breaks to see if there is anything off with them.
Thanks! |

I've had/have it in all my German cars (Audi, BMW and VW). My A7 and 330i both have it. Warped rotors. Drives me nuts.

So do you just replace them or let them be until the breaks are shot? Mine isn't bad, but it's just enough to be noticeable and it drives me nuts. But I won't spend 900$ in front rotors if they are probably still good

I had the same issues with VW cars in India too. Back there, I'd take it to the lathe to skim the rotors once or twice before they couldn't anymore and replace it. Ideally you'll have to replace with aftermarket rotors and pads since OEM ones will warp after a bit.
