I got the front air dam on my C300 caught on a spike on one of those concrete parking curbs. The snow plow had yanked the curb from the ground and when it settled back, the spike was sticking out about an inch. I didn't see it and pull in a bit too far. The air dam flexed and went over the spike with no problem, but then I couldn't back off it. I had to bring out two reams of copier paper from the office and jam them under the front tire. That gave me the clearance I needed to back up over the spike. After that I started backing into spaces.

Those front lips on the GT3 are actually dirt cheap.

It probably has the front axle lift on it, but even still that’s damn close!

I dont know how people own supercars in Atlanta with how large the overhangs are now. I even scraped my exhaust tips getting into a girls drive on my bone stock E91. Between the steep drives and tree roots buckling roads/drives its like a minefield. DETRoadsters pic is a "Meh, it'll make it easy" job in the city.

I've wanted to drop the IS about an inch and stance it out....until I encounter parking curbs. My bumper has about the same clearance as the GT3 in the first post. It's the only reason I haven't dropped it yet.

Trouble then is some non-Bmw will hit you if you're sticking out and drive off quickly.

See that's the problem. I keep telling myself if I can go a few months without over-stepping, I'll get it done. The next day.....

I just hate to spend the money and then destroy my bumper. The drive through car wash I go through would most likely destroy it as well.

My problem isn't so much watching the front bumper when parking up head on to a kerb but coming alongside one with sharp edges and I take it slow lining the wheels up a few inches away.

Parking isn't the only problem. So are dips in the road. The life of a lowered car owner sucks. Ask me how I know.

I lowered my gf's GTI and missed the part about there being a bolt inside the wheel well (for the liner) to remove when lowering past a certain point. I've never scraped lip on a dip in the road, but I have hit one that caused the car to compress enough to smack that bolt that punched a crease into her fender from the inside out

This is at stock height. I guess I'll be parking on the street once I get the new suspension installed. I'm not going to slam it but I am going down about 1 1/2" (38mm). That's going to make my driveway a "no go" zone for sure.
