3 weeks ago I put in my order for an m440i coupe. I was wondering if anyone knows what exactly has been removed so far in terms of features due to chip shortage? I just want to make sure I’m not going to be missing anything important.

So far I know that passenger lumbar, digital key, and adaptive M suspension is not being offered… anything else?

I ordered my 440 convertible in July and it was just delivered to PCD this week....mine got credit for digital key, passenger lumbar, passenger width adjustment BUT I did get adaptive suspension.....

I have an M340i on order and adaptive suspension wad removed from my build.

Oddly it is still available as part of the MSport package on the 330.

I presume you're in the US? I think the adaptive suspension must be an extra in the US, believe its standard on UK m340i / m440i, its still included in my order

My German built M340i has the seat width adjustment (-$100) delete, passenger lumbar delete (-$175), and Digital Key Delete (-$80). Vehicle production date was July 29th.

Parking Assist pkg and Driver Assist Pro packages were removed from my 430i Conv order.

I was contacted by my SA and informed that the options were no longer available. My car would sit in order "received status" until I either cancel the order, accept it without the options, or select alternative options.

FWIW, my m340i, scheduled for production in 2 weeks, has not had any options removed, including Drivers Assistance Pro, Driver Assistance, Parking Assistance, Adaptive Suspension, and HK sound. Knock wood, fingers & toes crossed.

M340i (so far) has not been affected

I’m getting the same info for my build (also have those two packages) but still waiting to hear definitively from the regional rep. What were alternative options in your case? Both of these packages are a mix of basic and advanced functionality.

How much of a loss is the Digital Key? Does that mean you won't be able to use your iPhone/Apple watch to unlock the vehicle?

I hardly use it, so for me not much of a loss. It is kind of finicky about getting your phone in the right place. Would be much handier if it opened as you approach the car like the physical key. Feel for all of you guys having options removed.

Same here, I have Digital key on my X5, and its been a pain to use. I will not miss it on my new 430i Conv.

Fairly minor deletions. My passenger - my wife - doesn't know about any of these things.

I went to my local dealer to place a order for a M340i - German build. He mentioned wireless charging may not be available which for me was a turn off. Im paying 86k canadian for a M340i with every possible option and I still may not get wireless charging ?! No mention of the lumbar support but he did mention BMW may remove options from the build once the order is online depending on the parts status. At this point - I think it may be beneficial to wait 4-5 months if youre not in a rush and then place the order. I think the parts shortage is getting better so by new year's you should be able to get every feature your ordered. I decided to wait anyhow.
