My car never showed "at port" it went directly from "ready for transport" to "in transit" back on 9/24 and has been there since.

In terms of waiting for another car, its more of a situation where I won't have a car too much longer. My previous daily was a lease that was returned and while I have a second car it is useless once the snow falls (corvette). My wife has said we could share her car as needed but that isn't sustainable forever.
Did you call BMW Genius? They’ll tell you what ship your car is on, from there it’s easy to track. You may still be on the water, this in transit.

Mine loaded 9/15 in Veracruz, MX arrived at port 10/5

That’s it, you can give them your VIN or Production # from your order.

So I called them and was pleased to find out that my car is in transit to port of departure finally. Looks like the website is out of date my car still shows ready for transport there, the rep confirmed they have the correct status.

I found this on another thread here, not sure how true this is.

https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app/

The OP of that thread believes if your VIN shows “closed” the work is complete. His shows closed and is the way to the dealer. Mine says closed so I’m hoping its ready soon.

Mine says closed also. I'll reach out to the genius line tomorrow and see what they have to say about it. Hopefully it's done and I'll have some good news!

My only concern is that “closed” doesn’t relate to the stop sale, and it just means the build is past the point where changes can be made. Who knows, hoping for an update from my dealer tomorrow.

LOL

I’m not glad yours says “open” but it gives me hope that it’s something significant . I’ll update with info from my dealer today.

My car shows “in transit” (to dealer) as of just now!! So the recall thing showing closed must be significant. Yay!

My car is at VPC due to stop sale for RAM, has anyone else been through this "stop sale" and how long did you have to wait before your car arrived at the dealership?

i called this morning and according to the gentlemen on the phone he said the car was scheduled to arrive in Baltimore yesterday but still shows as in transit. The car is affected by the stop sale and he has no ETA on repair.

The little bit of information I have to go on is that the car could be delayed for anywhere between a week and a few months, is that accurate?

Based on the defect code in the recall tool I found this:
Service bulletin on the RAM stop sale.
Doesn't really say anything new other than they've been having this issue for months now.
(Sorry if it has been posted here already.)

so how long do you think your car was held for the repair? looking at this thread it appeared to be only a few days and not the 60+ that some cars experienced.

About a week.

But it did sit at port in Germany for 2 weeks.

Helpful hint for anyone who wants to know their exact status code. Go to my garage with your inspector open in chrome and look through one the "forward" networks request responses. This data has your exact code in it along with a bunch of other data you may be interested in. I'm at status code 165 - in transit from plant to port of departure(from what I can gather). Lines up with what the rep told me.
