What were you expecting?
For me the alteration to the way the lane departure works on narrow roads mean I may consider turning it back on.

Just updated mine this evening but haven’t driven the car since. How much better is the lane departure warning system now? Have you found any more noticeably better improvements worthy of mention?

That’s the only noticeable difference. It’s still debatable if it’s worth using. I think it’s a great idea for long motorway drives but a PITA on other roads. This update does improve the operation but I’ll probably still end up having it turned off.

I've only just got my car, what sort of problems have you found with Lane departure on narrow roads?

Too intrusive - on a narrow road it's perfectly possible to get close to the white line whilst driving properly. It used to intervene and now it doesn't.

STOP PRESS!! - a hideous thing has happened since the update! In comfort mode the rev counter has been replaced by that hideous and completely useless "power meter" wank. The only way to get the rev counter back is to go to sports mode.

I hope there is a way of getting that back.

Sounds a bit dangerous to me. So, if I was to meet another car coming the other way close to the centre line and I moved left to give more room it could potentially push the car back to the middle of the lane?

There is, just found it. Car/Settings/Display/Engine/ (select rev counter)

Phew.

Not if you turn off steering intervention. And it won’t push you towards an oncoming vehicle - it’s slightly (but not much) more intelligent than that.

I turned off the intervention when I was driving down the M27 roadworks and it tried to turn me into a lane that had been closed because it could still see part of the white line!!

Exclamation Update killed ability to recharge battery!

The car and the App kept nagging me to perform this software upgrade which I reluctantly did. The release notes stated that they had improved the lane-keeping algorithm which as one can see from other posts was VERY necessary. I too have been steered into oncoming traffic on narrow roads. BUT the main problem I had with this was at the end of the update which it reported as successful it also said in passing, as it were, "Charging not Possible" Once I got home I tried two different chargers and the system refused with a red light showing on the socket but after leaving it for 4 hours and tried with a second charger again which immediately failed O then plugged in the original charger which I've used on this car since new in June this year it suddenly burst back into life. I don't trust it though, it's going back to the dealer for a full diagnostic check. So beware other hybrid owners

Jeez Xenon, don't do that mate, nearly had a fricking heart attack!

I hate that bloody stupid power meter thingy, can't see any point in it other than for amusement purposes, first thing I did was put the 'proper' rev counter in the display!

Don't worry, I get this with my 330e every time I update. Il have a bunch of warnings on the dash first time on start up. It will sort itself out next cycle. I used to take mine to the dealer but they said it tends to happen on the hybrids there's nothing they can do!

This is what I had when I did the latest update.

Haha I agree. I had mine turned on until roadworks cones directed me over white lines and the lane assist decided to force me back into the cones. Never again! Immediately turned it off after that.

I've only had my car a day and had a similar incident. Driving down a country road near me some work had been done in a drainage grid at the side of the road and a cone placed in top. I steered right a bit to go around and the car decides to try and point back at the cone - I wasted no time in switching it off.

I dispair at the new regulations from next year though as the EU will be making it harder to switch these features off.

If you have it set on the minimum it hardly wrenches the wheel from your hands. I get why people don't like it (I don't either) but I think people are dramatising a bit when suggesting it "forces you into traffic".
