Driver door sticking

I've had my M340i for about 2 months now. For about a month I've noticed at sporadic times when I open the driver door it sometimes sticks a little. When this happens I have to use a little more force than usual to open it. It has only been since yesterday that it's became more noticeable, almost like when your fridge door needs that extra pull to open it. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Yes, the passenger door in my G20 was like that when I took delivery of it.

Brought it back to the dealer and they fixed it. I presume they oiled the hinges? All good since and that was almost two years ago.

I must get them to have a look at the boot hinges when I in for my first oil change soon as the boot is slow to open.

Always thought it would be a easy fix. I even thought about using some wd40 on the door latch, just a hassle for the car to be away for a whole day.

Grease would be better than wd40 which just dries off. The factory put a smear of grease on the door hinges at production, I know that because I've caught some on my wash leather when drying out the door jambs and had to re-apply some more and be more careful the next time I'm cleaning it!

I have this too after two weeks of ownership. It feels like the lock sticking to me maybe due to a misalignment of something.

That is what I was thinking. When I collected the car I noticed that the black gloss trim that runs under the window wasn't flush with the rear passenger trim. Make me think the door is a mm or 2 out.

I'll have a look at the tomorrow. I'll also see if I can get the problem to appear repeatably by parking on some uneven ground.

It only took them 10 minutes to fix.

I would have thought it would only take that long but I need to have it booked in and leave it with them.

In case anyone else had this issue, I have fixed it.
A simple spray of a little wd40 on the driver door seal and it's no longer sticking.

No idea what caused it but it was getting worse and I had to use my shoulder barge it open. A simple fix for anyone.

Garage List
In the event you get some sticking from freezing you can use something like Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber on the door seals to prevent that in future too, fwiw.
