That’s same expected delivery week as mine. Mines supposed to be in quality check so still be surprised if it’s here that week. Originally due 2nd week October.

Really don't think mine will be this year now. My dealer emailed today saying still no change on system as far as anticipated delivery date but they can't see that any progress jas been made on the car on the system so they have asked BMW for an update. Its been in confirmed for build status for past 3 weeks whatever that means. Wouldnt mind but actually getting to point that we need the car now.

Mine was at that for ages, decided it just meant ready to build. Mines been arriving mid October, mid November, end November, now mid December. With Christmas I am now expecting it will be the new year, don’t believe anything that BMW say now, don’t know if it’s deliberate or they haven’t a clue either.

Are the EDD after hitting 5500 status still unreliable?

I got confirmation of 5500 and EDD week ending 12th Dec.

Whilst waiting for mine, I never called for an update once, just relied on the occaisional dealer updates and "it'll be here when its ready".
But, I would say if build complete, then 12th December is potentially possible, but maybe cutting it fine by the time it's shipped to UK and then to the dealers and then prep'd for handover.

As an aside, yesterday I parked up next door to the multi storey BMW use in Southampton, and there was certainly no shortage of brand new motors coming into the country. Not obvious there's a supply issue.

Don’t know but there is another post where someone has been in “quality check” for over 4 weeks!

Has anyone with a car in manufacture not had the touchscreen deletion? I keep hearing mixed reports on this.

Dealer bulletin says all models from Production Week 42 covering 3-series, 4-series and Z4 vehicles will not have touchscreens or Reverse Assist in addition to already removed options. The bulletin says ‘temporary removal’ without any detail on how long ‘temporary’ might be.

I also saw a bulletin last week further reducing Bluetooth functionality for the same models. Dealer did not understand what this actually meant and the bulletin did not go into fine detail.

My G21 M340d order has shifted backwards by about 20 weeks. I don’t trust what BMW are saying and the Dealers are just as frustrated (well the Sales Team at mine are).

If there isn’t more transparency by 17/12 the order gets canned.

Yes. Car is due to be built 7th Feb
Got told when ordered that the following is deleted
1) wireless charging
2) touchscreen

£500 back in my pocket 🙌

Couldn't careless about either so it's a win IMO

Well I've just had some good news, finally. Its in build and should be at dealership 1st Jan. Later than expected and had a lot of push back but glad it's finally started build. Won't hold my breath on the exact date but we'll see

That’s great news, at long last.

That's a bit earlier than initially told, no? I think you were estimated to be week 2? I only remember that cause my build is estimated for week 3

Maybe you've taken my cancellation

I've decided to walk away from my order. The touch screen deletion just doesnt make sense to me, especially when you consider the OS8 platform in the 2022 LCI is effectively increasing the dependence on touch. That is unless they are holding back semiconductors for the LCI!!!

Also I'd ticked pretty much every option, so it just feels a cheap shot to be without a touch screen on a £60k car. It's 2021 not 2011. But it's all very personal and dependent on your circumstances, so apprecaite why people are sticking with theirs. What helped me was the fact I don't have a deadline or need the car. I'll just run around in what I have for a bit longer.

Here's hoping the temporary change is just temporary, and they reintroduce it before the LCI. But I'd be surprised.
