Is there a specific reason you wouldn't consider a lease swap with cash on top to reach the same amount? If so could you post the lease terms?

Buying outright has different tax implications and would cost more for buyers in most states.

The reason is the used car market right now thats all it is and also cause I’ve build up equity in the car that’s all .

I think you didn't understand his question. A lease swap with cash on top would equate to the same amount and would potentially get you more buyers. What he means is what equity are you looking to get out of it? You can ask that amount as a down payment for lease swap.

Right, your payoff + taxes + profit = $55k

So if you just want $profit, a lease swap would be:

$Profit in cash to you, and a standard lease takeover and that's it. The buyer would benefit by not having to stack double taxes on top and you walk out with the exact same amount in your pocket. The only one losing in the equation is the state of NJ.
