Major downer that they got rid of mocha interior for this year. That was the best color for this car IMO.

2021 M340i BYO Updated with M Sport Red Brake Calipers for No Cost

View post on imgur.com

We knew it was coming, and it looks like BMW has updated the website with the M Performance red brake calipers as a no cost option.

Am I missing something; I don't see ambient lighting or adaptive cruise anymore as an option for the 2021 m340..?

**Saw a post where ambient lighting is now part of executive package. Didn't notice it saying that on the configurator.

Seats

Does anyone know if the 2021 has improved seats. They seemed a bit more comfortable in the 2020 model than a 2019 M40i I test drove that I thought was not comfortable at all. I'm hoping the 2021 has improvements in seat comfort, I want to switch from an X5 to an X3.

I work for a BMW dealership. 2021 M340i are still in production and have not been shipped yet. YES, the 48v is standard on all 2021 M340i as it will be on the 440 when it arrives as well.

From a few people who have taken delivery on there 21 m340i have reported that they can't take turn off the auto start/stop feature. Is that true and if so do you know the reason why ?

I think what they're talking about is that it's not remembered across restarts. Same with '20s.

I think they were referring to the new 48v mild hybrid system that they confirmed is on the 21 models. The auto start stop feature is reported to be smoother but both people said they couldn't turn off the auto start/stop.

No, they're talking about the lack of a physical button for ASS on the console. It's gone for the 2021 MY.

oh wow that's news to me. i actually don't mind it that much, i just get the habit of moving the shifter to sport to disable it at intersections where I don't want it to shut off.

The reason you can't turn the feature off is because of how the 48v system works. In comfort and eco, you have to deal with it. Currently there are two work arounds. You can put your car in any of the sport settings or move the shifter to the left before coming to a stop. At some point I'm sure there will be programming to defeat it, but that might cause a warranty issue

Thanks, the work around I've seen is setting up sport individual mode and change everything to comfort and program the car to start in sport individual.

Unlisted changes to m340i

I was recently in discussions on a 2021 m340i and (if true) there appear to be some negative changes to the vehicle in 2021.

1) No staggered tire package. My understanding is that the 2020 19 inch performance tire packages had 225/255 tire configuration. The BMW genius customer support group says that all the tires are 225 in in 2021.

2) No larger front brake calipers in High Performance Cooling and Tire package. My understanding was that in the 2020 model, this package came with larger front brake calipers. According to BMW, this is no longer the case in 2021.

I hope this is wrong information. Does anyone know better?
