Connect App verification code
I’ve put this topic in this forum as it’s specific to the UK. Picked up my G20 this week and after trying to use the connect app. for the life of me I can’t get a verification code sent to my car. I’ve spoke to the connect ‘team’ on the phone and by email and other than ‘move the car to get a signal’, they haven’t come up with a solution.
I’ve tried it in numerous places with no joy. The dealership didn’t really seem to have any idea of a solution, so I can’t use any of the apps vehicle applications. Has anybody else had a similar problem they have solved. |

HI,
I had the same issue on the day I picked my car up. I tried relentlessly to pair my connect app with the car but no joy. Then on the 2nd day, whilst the car was parked up I started to get notifications, and everything just started to appear. It must be the sim card signal in the car, and as soon as its connected for a while it updates. Have you updated the apps in the car? using the option button, and update apps? |

Hi. Yes, tried everything. It went in to the dealer a few days ago and had a full software upgrade (a recall apparently), but it still doesn't work. I've deleted and reinstalled the app, but nothing works.
I can send destinations to the car, just can't use the vehicle functions |

I am having similar problems. After a bit of digging, I found what looks like the problem.
My app will not locate my car. There should be a “vehicle tracking “ option in the general settings. This option is missing on my car. Cars booked into dealers next Thursday. Could someone check there’s for this option. Thanks |

Hi,
This car does not have the Vehicle tracking option, it does it automatically. As soon as you get in the car, on the display a little world icon appears, thats the online tracking starting up, it then goes off after around 5 minutes. Its a feature of the OS 7. |

I've got the globe and shield, but still no joy. BMW Connect team say contact dealer. Dealer has no idea why it doesn't work. All software had been updated, app deleted and reinstalled.
I'm not really getting anywhere. After years with Audi, not too impressed with the lack of desire to sort the problem. |

What I don’t understand is why vehicle tracking is mentioned in the handbook, and on the Connected Drive website is says “vehicle tracking must be authorised in the car”.

Quick Update
Car went in on Thursday, hooked up to computer and the tech guy found a problem with Remote Services. Friday consisted of emails to and from the dealer and BMW technical, trying various things, but no joy.
Will continue on Monday. As it’s a 110 mile round trip to the dealer, the cars left there, while I have a 320i bog standard courtesy car Cheers Last edited by oldmick; 06-29-2019 at 10:00 AM.. |

I was supposed to get a call from the dealer this week, but it never came despite constant promises. I’m simply not prepared to travel to the dealer and lose the car for the day to get the app sorted. It’s a pain, but as there doesn’t seem to be a fix I’m not losing any sleep

Well got a phone call to say car was ready, so off I go to collect. In a rush just picked it up and left.
Got home and checked everything was working, but it wasn’t. Tried to get code for phone- nothing. To cut a long story short, all the apps have disappeared from the car. Rang the dealer, didn’t have a clue. No confidence in them now, will wait for them to ring to see what’s next. (I know I should have checked it while I was there).

Not really, they just said they found a ‘problem’ with Remote Services.
Whether that was with the car or Connected Drive (or both) they didn’t say. Just glad it’s sorted.
