This car’s AC is weak AF

My car was purchased in December, and it’s garaged and parked in a parking garage at work. Today was the second or third time I’ve come out to the car after having parked it in the sun for a few hours. My car is fully tinted with XPel including the windshield.

The car was hot inside but not insanely so. But it took at least 10 minutes, if not more, on “max AC” to cool the car. IMHO, this car’s AC performance is weak. My Tesla and my Cayenne Hybrid in full electric mode cool more effectively, not to mention every other ICE car I’ve owned. Pretty disappointing for a car that needs to live in Houston.

Is this an isolated issue? Others have this issue?

Did you adjust your individual settings to be as cold as possible for both driver and passenger? Maybe get it checked out because that doesn’t sound right. Mine gets cold very quickly.

This may be an isolated issue. I'm in TX as well and have zero issues in 100+ degree weather.

Do you mean move the red / blue slider to full blue? Because clicking "max AC" puts both driver and passenger to "Lo", fan on full, and recirc on.

Yes. Interesting. Definitely get it checked out, could be leaking Freon or something. Our X7 has seen anemic AC in 100+ degree heat, but not the M’s.

Hmm. I will put max AC on and grab the IR thermometer and see what the temp is coming out.

If you have the remote start option you can use the app to start your AC a few minutes before you get to your car

Unless it’s a manual (which it’s not) - doesn’t help me

I’m in Austin and can say that my AC works just fine.

That being said, my wife had an X5 about 8 years ago that had a WEAK AC. Embarrassed us plenty of times with passengers.
Dealership was never able to figure it out. My buddy was my technician at the time and he was stumped as to why, but did agree that something wasn’t right.
OP…not to instigate superstitions, but that X5 was also bought at Bert Ogden in McAllen.

When I bought my 2022 I lived in San Antonio, the A/C got plenty cold. You should take yours in.

Wife's prior X3 needed more coolant, twice.. slow leak that did not trip any lights. (?!?) fixable. That being said, we had a Volvo XC90 that had a totally inadequate AC for Phoenix AZ. Apparently the Swedish version of hot summer was not the same as Arizona's.

Mine is the same brother. I chalked it up to cheap German engineering.

My Land Rover autobiography takes 1 second VS minutes on the M4. It’s laughable. But again we’re talking a $50-$100k more expensive vehicle. That shouldn’t matter but it is what it is. My other Land Rover is faster as well.

Live 10’ from the sun (South Florida) and my AC cools the car down quickly. No complaints about it. May be time for a service visit.

No issues on mine and cools down plenty fast, and gets very cold. I too have tint on all windows. Worth bringing to the dealer to check out IMO because that doesn't sound normal.

There is probably a leak. I’ve seen other threads indicating the dash needs to be removed to replace the part. We just experienced this with my wife’s X5. If you’re under warranty, bring it to the dealer. If out of warranty, go to the ATM before going to the dealer.

You must have the world speed record Land Rover. Let me guess, It also has better reliability than a Camry as well.

Mine blows cold air but the furthest left drivers side vent has pathetically weak airflow.
